I believe thats another reason for dropping testers before the GPS drop. To get some of the fire pics like @J.James and @Evergreengardener take with there spensive

I used a camera for like a week and stopped because it was a pain the ass to transfer pictures over to PC....little did I know about Bluetooth and USB wires hahaha

Yeah you gotta get used to the workflow I guess. The smartphones have decent editing software, but still not great IMO. Also unless you have ideal lighting, smartphones just don't do a good job of properly exposing. It's just the physics of that tiny smartphone sensor vs. the giant ones you find in canons, nikons, etc.

Yea I notice there's a huge difference in pics when I go on my phone compared to my PC. I use a high def tv for my monitor so the pics come in ultra clear if the picture is taken correctly. There's a few people here who use decent cameras as they are the only ones that come in super super clear.
It's more about steady hands and proper lighting than the camera. Newer iPhones and Androids can take pretty incredible pictures. I use my iPhone more than I use my Nikon for my plants just because it is easier and the picture quality isn't that far off.

The quality is good, for sure. Amazing how good a smartphone can do. Where they fall down though is in low-light, and depth of field. Two things that the small sensors just can't compete with the big boys.
Yup! there's only so much you can do with a small lens and sensor. The multi lens phones are dealing with depth of field pretty well though. One of my favorite lenses, though, is my Nikkor 50mm f1.8. You can get some amazing photos with that lens.

I know I almost fell over looking at prices for cameras and lenses....I would have never though they would cost more then nearly my entire setup of grows LOL
With DSLR cameras the lens is more important than the camera. You can get a nice older model DSLR for cheap and then use the money you save on quality lenses. I ran a used Nikon D70 that I got for under $100 for 5-6 years before I bought something a little nicer. A lot of people think it's all about the Mega Pixel rating, but that only matters when it comes to how large of a print you want. My D70 was a 4MP camera and I could still print out 8x10 high quality photos.

Mine was a little over 300 but it takes awesome macro photos. My hands are just too shaky to really take decent ones.

Biggest issues I see with pics posted on many threads
phone photo's that are blurry - and still get posted.

And blurple/QB pics that are unedited.
A flash pic with the brightness adjusted later will ditch most of the harsh QB stuff.
Blurple pics need way too much help. Might as well set the plan out, or get a pic at lights out with natural lighting, or a flash pic in a dark tent.

No flash is needed with white LEDs if you just go in and adjust the white balance or tint a little bit. It usually only needs to be kicked towards blue just a smidge to get the color to look correct but some people go way overboard.Biggest issues I see with pics posted on many threads
