Anyone willing to talk about growing mushrooms?

Ok, so that wasn't mycelium filling in the holes I removed, it was trichoderma growing back. Pulled the small shrooms that were growing in that cake (about 5 grams wet) and buried the cake in a pot outside. Hopefully it will produce some fruits during this wave of warm weather we are getting this week but no biggie if it doesn't. The fatty growing off hte side of the cake emerged this morning, with it's veil already open, so I think I need to pull that one out today to prevent it from sporing in there.

This is what I don't want to happen to my trays... decided to case it while it was still colonizing. Now I have a white mat of mycelium that will likely become contaminated before I get a decent

Someone posted this issue recently on Reddit and a bunch of growers recommended either lightly raking the surface with a sterilized fork or laying bubble wrap on top of it (bubble side down). You obviously know a lot more about this than I do so I'm sure you've heard of those techniques before.
