HydroRed's DIY Bubble Cloner (under $35)

Is he using a bubbler stone or spray heads on the pump? That can make all the difference in the world too. Only time I've really experienced any leaks in any style tote was due to using the spray heads.
Exactly where he is at. Stole the sprayer out of his old cloner. I'll let him know to switch to those long ass bubbler stones you got, I believe, from Walmart.
Edit: a tote that has clamps will probably seal better, maybe that will work?

Found the good totes. 12 bucks for a 12 gallon. And they are solid as fuck lol. Also the five gallon was definitely not a five gallon lol dinky ass tote.

Should be $12 for the 27 gal HDX tote. Your right about the "5 gal" as the one I got only holds about 3.5 gal in reality.

This is my cloner. 2.5 gal bucket, pvc manifold, sprayer heads and a pond pump from harbor freight.

20 sites,if more are needed....2 clones per collar bam! A 40 piece. I never need more than 5 or 6 at a time tho.
Great thread Red.Props.
mine is almost the same I made myself simple and easy and didn't cost much

My bad, it should say 3 gal bucket. My 2.5's are my planter buckets.
The DIY bubble cloner and aero cloner are cheap as fuck to build.Mine only costed the price of my pump as I had the other parts laying around.$8 and some change.Ok maybe 11. Forgot about the mister heads.

Even simpler with just as good or even better strike rates are the root riots, peat pellets etc.
I don't buy rockwool to clone, but have received a few cuts in rockwool, tricky beast.

The only cuts I have a hard time rooting in my aero bucket are the hollow stems. They'll mush up.I have taken or cut just above the mush and rooted in a solo perlite hempy. Most everything I toss in it will root.Just as the bubbler.
I don't even try hollow stems in my aero cloner anymore.Peat pellet for the win.

I'd like to hear the bubble clone folks as well as aerocloner's thoughts and experiences on cloning hollow stem cuts in their systems.

I gave up on aerocloning yrs ago due to the leaks I always seemed to encounter, but never had a problem getting roots in 6-8 days from my Mothers Milk which is a hollow stem plant for the most part. The glue on the other hand....thats a different story.

Where you using a tote for your aerocloner? My first aerocloner tote I made a curtain around the inside of the lid so the droplets would hit it and dribble down back into the tote.
No more leaks since I switched to a bucket and lid.
See, yea, I think my hollow stemed cuts were getting too wet.I didn't run a timer back then. The pump was on 24/7. Shit,I don't know...lol. Now when I get take a cut and it's hollow I don't even try to put it in the cloner.
Guess I have some more tinkering and experimenting to do!

Ya, I used a small 5 gal tupperware type tote but it didnt have a concave lid like the ones you find now. I too ran the pump 24/7 so the heat from the pump was actually beneficial as the spot I was running before was indoors in a basement and was naturally cool year round.

@HydroRed I liked them so much i got the set !
Thanks man. This thing is awesome and I will finally try cloning a couple every time I put a plant in flower so i can get the hang of it.
I took the growbox out of the room and now its back in the room. But this time..I really like it.

My cloner box ! The bubble cloner uses 4 airstones 14 inches long and a 2 port air pump...10 gallon container. Same one but in blue.
I will use the veg only part of that light. 65 watts of mostly bluerple.

Works great. I will check it out very soon. I was moving stuff around and i found the last 2 bits i needed to make it. Now I just need something big enough to clone! I will turn the lid around I had to goof around with the handles (cut them and smooth them off) to make it fit in the growbox but it is exactly right.
