Before. The UK Cheese is a beauty. Those three little ones are fems so next up-pot they get big final pots. The others may go to a 2g if needed before I get them sexed. MIght mean more rearranging, but I'm not really worried about quantity so even though they're in bigger pots they flip with the rest most likely.

After. I just stuck the Freaks and the 007up in the dark tent for now. I'll worry about getting them under a light tonight. Mini tent is vacant and ready for the next drop.

Had the Mimms Kush and the County Line Hashplant out to weigh and look at close to make sure they were drying OK.
Found out afterwards the pics were crappy but they give you an idea of the size. That's a full-sheet pan. Will fill a large oven.
The Mimms Kush. Each limb should be an ounce dry. Nothing surprizing on the smells - it's kush-y :)
IMG_5418.JPG
The CLHP is another 2oz and the sharp chemical cheese smell is delicious!
IMG_5425.JPG
This is the only one that came out good, and shows the colors well - amazing contrast. They weren't this pretty alive :ROFLMAO:

Also from the pic, and the eventual dry-weight, you can see that the kush is a little more fluffy. I think it has some shrinking to do. The CLHP is marbles. Hard little nugs right down to the bottom.

I have about a week until @Heisenbeans GMO Cake hits one month, but the smell was getting rank enough I had to roll it out to make sure it wasn't getting moldy or something ;). There's a rotten garlic smell with a sharp chemical layer to it, but after a minute of airing out there's a sick sweet undertone to it (I guess from the wedding cake?) but I think this is my first good adventure into the Chemdog lineage. There were a handfull of mini-nugs and broken sugar leaves so I just ground that - veeeerrry stoney. Regular headrushes and body-buzzes wth bowl hits, and a full size cone will last 2 sessions, pretty good the second time around.

Again, no great harvest pics, but this Mimms never did anything special except get fat :) No fancy leaves, or fancy smells. It's weed LOL
IMG_5449.JPG
Smells just like the other one, the purple is about half-tone comparatively, and I'll get at least 2.5oz dry. This is the one I didn't get a clone from so I think I lucked out. I could be completely backwards but I'm assuming that the purple finishing pheno would be the keeper. They might smoke just the same, in which case this produced more bulk. Time will tell.

I had a busy night. The normal looking Royal Kush showed a pistil, and the Royal Limez was also nready for re-pot. Since I had the assembly line going the two clones got bigger pots too. But the assembly line was just a jumbled mess. I am growing out the clones in my old soil and the old way, and the new plants are going in the build-a-soil, with worms, and a cover crop, the whole nine. So this tent is all clones plust the Royal Limez since I think they'll all be tall. Lights will stay and I'll drop the plants.
IMG_5437.JPG
The build-a-soil 'artizan blend' is basically like any other pre-charged soil mix (think subcool) but it all showed up in the right proportions, and you mix it. It has the Clackamas Coots nutrient blend, bio-char, pumice, peat, compost, worm castings, etc. All organic. stuff.

I put 5 gallons of soil in the 7 gallon pot then took out half, set the rootball in and put the soil back. After it was situated I watered it in, then topped it off with 1-2" of vermicompost with the worms. This was bottom tray worm dirt that they ate most of the food, paper, and coco instead of the sifted castings. I sprinkled a handfull of cover crop seeds, hit them (and the worms) with a spray bottle to wet them, then I covered one with barley straw and one with rice hulls to see if one is better.

Still waiting and debating on what to do with the rest that haven't shown. It's gonna depend on how many are girls. 3 PTK, 2 Freakshow, 007up, and the cabbage leaf Royal Kush are still gender neutral. The Northern Lights runt has a few leaf ambers, so she's gone this week.

Stoned gardening thoughts.

The main reason I top plants is height.
Topping for 4 cola just seems logical, since they have a perfect spread. None are growing right under the other so LST not a big factor.
I know that I can prune up each limb to get fatter cola at the expense of weight, but to save on trimming and reduce larf.
I am not trimming as close and I am drying whole plants so it's not as big of a deal.

Fat buds are a drying hassle and I end up snipping them apart anyway.
Larf makes better hash than trim.

But here's the 💡 - Pruning away the lower stuff to reduce larf and force top growth also makes them taller.
I don't want that except in certain istances where a plant is slow.

My new 'style' will include letting seriously runty plants go untopped so I'm not vegging forever to try and get a respectable plant. And leave more lower stuff. Some plants plump up all the way to the bottom, some have larf. That's good info to have.

My humidity stays in the 50% range indoors, regardless what outside is. I have an ancient house. I have found that the rH in my drying closet drops as the plants finish. I can basically jar my stuff once the closet gets to 62%. (usually 65% with new plants). Adding plants from staggered harvests seems to make it dry slower overall, which is good.
IMG_5480.JPG
I just chopped the little runt Northern LIghts freebie from CLG and it was worth not culling. IMG_5473.JPGI should get over an ounce and a half from that little bitch. I am not sure about leaving it whole though since is is so leafy. It may end up snipped apart and on a rack.
IMG_5481.JPG
Lost a PTK male, and the NL so this is back to a manageable tent. The two-prong Freakshow is a girl, re-potting it tonight. The 007up is looking male and the other PTK are just showing preflowers of some sort. The cabbage leaf RK is showing nothing. IMG_5465.JPG
And I got a full-plant pic of the GSC - plump nuggies all the way down. IMG_5470.JPGIMG_5471.JPG

Boredom and the quest for fun high's
I used everclear to wash the decarbed trim from jarring up the Zkittles.
I let that evaporate and got a good bit of hash oil (may try a dab later)

But I'm a joint smoker primarily. This may be the best thing ever ot it may go up in flames with the first spark LOL.
IMG_5486.JPG
I painted part of the cone then rolled it in kief. After it dries out for a while I'll pack it.

Stoner thought

Since the one Freakshow girl is a two-top naturally spread out, it might work nice in a big pot with it's sister if the Christmas Tree ends up a girl.

@Fiddler's Green I also have a few big bottles of everclear that are infused with decarbed kief and should be 100mg/tsp.

I have 2 half-gallon jars of mixed decarbed bud vacuum sealed. I think that is the best way for long term storage. Once it's decarbed 'too dry' doesn't matter and since the THC is activated you can eat it or use it for edibles, but in a pinch you can still smoke it, or the oil from evaporating the everclear, whatever.

Most of the everclear is infused from kief, but when I start doing buds I want to make it super strong with the everclear, or reduce it then thin it back to the 100mg/tsp with a regular 80-120 proof. Maybe find strains that go well with bourbon, rum, tequila, etc.

Is that infused salt?
I rarely drink but, that sounds like a margarita I wanna try.
Got the idea from the sugar. Alcohol doesn't disolve salt or sugar so making it is the same. I use Isopropyl and salt for cleaning bongs which is how I made the mental connection.

I was thinking more spice rub than margarita, but infused tequila and infused salt on the rim? Sounds like bedtime or a party to me- and you wouldn't know until after :ROFLMAO:

@Fiddler's Green I rarely drink either. I keep beer in the fridge but that's a yard-work then nap kind of thing. I did a "shot" of the everclear this afternoon, which ammounted to a half a shotglass of grapefruit juice, and a dropper full of the liquor. Maybe 25mg? It was nice and it wasn't about the alcohol.

I want to start doing strain specific batches and see if that makes much difference in effect. You're stripping all the other canabinoids along with the THC, but who knows what survives the process.

They say it can't be done - I say bullshit, I need to see it.

I have the Build a soil cooked and ready to do a tent-full plus, but I have a bunch of girls. I can't fit them all in 7 gallon pots without doing multiple plants per pot. So I have some 5-gallon living sopil pots en-route, (only had one more 7gal anyway then some 15gal). I don't know how long they will last, but they are sturdy cloth pots with a plastic lining on the sides. It stops about three inches from the bottom. I think this is to help retain moisture for the worms but still get airflow for the roots. So far it's great because you don't have water dripping out the sides of the pot as you water. Brilliant!

Threse in veg are gonna need an up-pot soon even if I don't flip. The three fems could go right into big pots if I have room. Might fire the mini tent back up to house some of the shorties. The 6 Vin Santo are looking like clones. They are the black tags in the corner, except for the one 007up right up front. The white tags to the left are the Sondclash - big and small, and the fems are the other white tags middle-front. The UK Cheese is the corner planbnt with the sharp sawtooth.
IMG_5491.JPG
I sifted the "12-seed-blend" cover crop to just get the tiny seeds, maybe 2-3 varieties. I'm glad I did because they aren't outpacing the plant
IMG_5492.JPG
I didn't sift these. This is gonna be fun :)

IMG_5494.JPGThe two-prong Freakshow is either going in a 15gal pot with the other Freak, or the last 7gal on it's own. I want to use the 15gal for two plants, but I'm waiting for prime 'twinsies' candidates. I think the Freaks would work but there might be a major height difference as they stretch.

If the two remaining PTK are female that's another (better) option to try the two-plant thing. I have noticed with a lot of strains the males show quicker. The ones that hang around longer usually flower out.

The cabbage-leaf RK is a girl, and getting one of the 5gal, and everything after that probably will too. The one in the big pot and the one up top beside it are the same strain. Not puttong a lot of faith in the wierdo from a 10th gen backcross.

I am not growing the plants long enough to need bigger pots, but I get the concept of re-using the pot as is for the next grow and that might be where the limitation is. We'll see.

Oh. The other big change is that the living soil pots are now on a two-day schedule for watering. Only getting a quart or two each time, but keeping the top layer moist for the worms.

They have the stuff in the soil that is supposed to cover their cal and mag needs, so they aren't getting those ammendments in the water unless they start looking bad. All the plants in my soil still will get cal-mag and silica.
