Their sise is actually starting to worry me. I hope I made the right choice starting so early. That extra 6-8 weeks is gonna make em massive. Decided not to do the netting horizontally because I don't want em sheared off by a late September storm. Will wrap em instead just like last year (plus a few new stakes).

Finally caught up on your thread. I've been missing out on all the fun! 200 gal pots jeebus!! Love the "mini" covered wagon style hoop haus. Lots of good tinkering and solutions going on here, quick thinking and considerate of budget and environment. I'll be following for sure. Thanks for sharing, got my gears going!

Necessity is the mother of invention. I'm kinda poor so it forces me to be creative.
The mini-hoophouse works really well but if you build one I suggest that you make a mechanism that allows you to roll up the sides instead of having to completely remove the cover. As soon as this set is harvested I'll finish making my pvc cranks. Just a pvc pipe with a couple 90's with short 6"&12" pieces at the end for crank handles. I'll have to run a ratchet strap over each end to keep them tight over the hoops. I think it'll work with the hoop frame as-is but I might have to add a few extra cross supports to hold the shape. Will find out when I do it.

Grow Log 07/22/19
The garden is really starting to take off this year. Judging by their sise this early in the season my guesstimate is they'll reach 12'-17' by harvest time. Half the garden is trellised. Doing the other half tonight and will be adding bamboo poles with another 6' of trellis early next month. Hopefully it'll be enough to support them for the yearly storms we usually get a couple weeks before harvest.
