Since I had success with the little food cover crops I just dropped about $75 on fucking vegetable seeds
. I got over 25 packs of seeds though, so nothing like a cannabis spending spree.
I went through and got anything that had a short harvest time and lots of vitamins. As soon as that stuff gets in I am doing a small pot test run of everything to see what to expect - and get some indoor food.
Outside I have two plants that might be perfect for indoors, and would be a climbing thing on a wall trellis taking up no room. The Mexican Sour Gherkin is a 'not-a-cucumber' berry thing that looks like a mini cucumber. It grows like a grape vine and the fruit are thumbnail size at best, at least outside. super thin leaves, vines, everything. The other is a Spoon Tomato. It grows like a sativa dominant
tomato plant with little pea sized tomatoes. everything is miniature and the branching and leaves are all thin and stretchy. It has a sucker at every node and would fill a wall easy if it had the food and light. I have one trailing around my fence and there was a bee buzzing around the flowers and it was easilytwce the size of the fruit. Probably fit a dozen or so in a spoon...
spoon tomato...
These are things I'll be playing with when the 3x3 is empty. I'm not starting more beans than I can accomodate in the mini tent unless I get another batch of testers. I want to rig a wall trellis or three and then go wild and just see what grows inside under 18/6 or 12/12. The climbers and the cover crop/veggies, but herbs and flowers too. All stuff that can just be window grown (succeed or fail) over the winter. They can hang out inside until next spring.
