Little update after 24hr soak. GP cracked. I don’t like soaking longer than 24hrs. I’ve malted barley before and it needs air time. Needs 02 and releases co2 as it’s germinating.
So I do my usual and into a petri dish.
They will get a wet blanket and lid before bed. And as Heisen recommendations I put dish above a small driver with a couple fiber pots under to not overheat. Hopefully will be 75-80 deg. About a 1’gap. I’ll check before lights out with a laser thermometer.

We'll I'm going to error on the side of caution. Looks like the seeds may get a little warm above the driver even with 3 fiber post folded and between. So the are on my cloning bench. Should be around 73 I'm guessing the GP will go in starters in the AM and the HB will remain twin the petri.

Looks like we have a HB bean cracked YAY.
Opted to leave them in the dish for the day.

I am growing the sme cross. Mine took 3 days to pop. My beans were small , i dont know if that's why they tool a little longer to pop. The first one popped its head out of the rapid rooter last night.

Thanks. They do look a little small compared to the Eagle Scout. But some strains are. Not sure what size they should be. Eagle Scout will probly go in the RRrs tonight.

I know different strains have different size seeds, was just curious if that affected how long it takes them to pop. How long do you usually let the tail get before putting into rr's?.

I like to do it before it gets too long that I may fumble and brake it. 1/4-1/2”

Ok thats what i do. I just started using the rr's from peat pellets. Im having much better success using them vs the pellets

The east coast diesel, bubba kush, and sundae have small seeds. I though maybe it was just one run but I've seeded the east coast and sundae 3 times now and the seeds are small.

Good to know, some verietys are naturally small.

Tails got a little away on me. Ball game last night for the boys. I think they all made the transfer with no casualty’s. I use Heisens tweezer tek to hold the enlarged hole open.

the sundae and wedding pie craosses were the last seeds out so suspect they will be a little slower on germination. I think they'll come out just a little slower

They aren't doing too bad. 3rd should show tap tomorrow. They are sitting at 75 in the dish.
