Grow Yer Own Stone with Old Stoner

BE THE BALL
Well Fuck Me! I’m so tired of spraying 35 little plants every theee days or so only to have the PM come back.

I’m trashing all my bonsai mothers.

I’m just going to pop seeds from now on and no grows during the summer.

After all the plants are gone, I’ll wipe everything down really well with a peroxide solution and wash all my trays, tools and what not.

The least I can say is it was a learning experience.
Bummer. I could well imagine that 35 little plants to spray, is a nightmare.

Well it’s been a minute, but seeds are wet as of today!

Here’s the lineup:

#2. East Coast Sour Diesel S1

#3. Animal Cookies x Triangle Kush

#4. GMO x Dosi Dos

#5. Lemon Tree S1

#6. Orangeberry Smoothie

#7. Purple Diesel

#8. Sundae Driver x Dosi Dos

Hopefully this turns out to be an epic grow. I’m hoping the Heisen Testers turn out well and help H move em.

Right there with ya @inthetrees. PM is something (knock on wood) I've never had here in CO. Don;t share cuts/with others anymore....so that helps i'm sure. i know folks who got cuts from Cali who saw it.....but it seems rare. I also ignore "VPN" and never run a purposely humid room. Trouble waitin to happen, IMO. I don;t like the way the product comes out either. DRY air makes lotsa trichs and from my experience...humidity makes more larf/leaves and less frost. I'm not wanting (nor will i engage in) to start a debate/argument...it's just how it has played out here over the years.

And it's DRY here...and that is easy..LOL. with no market anymore...I just ride the ride, as always. It's all second nature after so many cycles.

So @Old ST1R ....do you Physan/bleach (yuk..I hate bleach) the room and go again? I hope you can nix it........ Good luck

I cleaned as best I could with as much effort I wanted to put in. I used a couple of different household cleaners, one was CLR Mold and Mildew formula and one was something that I can’t remember the name of.

It’s a huge fucking job wiping down the inside of two tents, including the fans, filter, lights poles etc.

I didn’t touch the walls in the room but did clean my watering jugs and clippers etc.

It’s about to get bone dry here with the onset of fall, so hopefully I’ll get this run done without any PM. Say a prayer for me. 🙏🏼

I got some sulphur prills from Amazon to burn inside my tents as a extra precautionary, it helps kill any spores that might be in your fans, filters, light fixtures etc...(anything that you can’t/don’t want to get wet). I just flipped over an aluminum can and burnt a small pile (a couple different times), then turned fans/exhaust back on. I haven’t had anymore problems with pm since. Hope this helps you or someone.

So after about 65 hours all the seeds had little tails except the Animal Cookies x Triangle Kush and GMO x Dosi Dos. I usually scuff all my seeds but I in my excitement to get something wet, I forgot. So I scuffed those two in my little sandpaper tube just now. Hopefully they’ll move along.

I've seen a few people talking about scuffing seeds now... What is the purpose of that? Not knocking it by any means, just curious what it does... I've only ever dropped beans straight into shot glasses and had tails within 48 hours then into the starting medium. Been doing that for years with great success

Just makes the seam split easier, so its easier for tail to pop .

Some seeds have really thick casings and makes it hard to split open. Scuffing them lets more water in and the shells weaker and easier to split.

Before I get my germinated seeds into dirt, I’m running the lights in my tents with no fans in hopes of it getting warm enough to kill any PM spores that might have been missed during the cleaning. They’ve been on just over a half an hour and it’s already almost 34C in there (100 F). Supposedly, PM dies at about 95F. I’ll let it go a few hours and see how hot it gets.

I’d put a heater in there too, if you can. After I had pm last year I make sure that I’ve got plenty of air movement going on.
