Grow Yer Own Stone with Old Stoner

Grow Yer Own Stone
This morning I didn’t have to leave for work due to a dentist appointment, I decided to up-pot the biggest plants.

Up-Potted OBS, GMOxDD, PD, SDxDD and ACxTK to One Gallons.

Here’s the before and after:

In a couple of days, I’ll top all of the transplanted plants back to the third node and remove any side branching below that.

I think this time, I’m going to do four tops each in a true main line (not a manifold).

Yesterday I topped all the up-potted plants which finally responded well to the larger pot. They took a while to respond. They went into ProMix which I had wet down with plain water, which I think was the wrong thing to do. I had to wait for them to dry out a bit before I could give them a feed, and they really liked that.

Next time I up-pot into promix, I’m going to wet it down with feed water, that should speed things up. Here’s some before and afters:

They look great. I feel the same way about the ProMix. Adding 1/4 strength nutes right off the bat has seemed to work well for me.

Yesterday, I checked the roots on the plants that were up-potted to one gallons ten days ago:

FDC7B9A1-C9CE-42C8-8FC3-677414548915.jpeg

Holy Fuck! Look at that! They went from 1/3 liter pots to the one gallons, and in ten days filled the whole container. Amazing!

So today, I up-potted the one gallon plants to three gallons. Here’s the tent now:

In a couple days, after the up-potted plants have had some time to adjust to their new shoes, I’ll top them again to get Four tops. Then they’ll veg til they get to about 14” to 16” tall, and into flower they’ll go!

I don’t have much headroom in the veg tent, so I may end up vegging them for a while in the flower tent before the flip.

I also decided, that since I’m not going to grow during the summer, that for the next run, I’m going to veg another set of plants to flower in the flower tent, and at the same time, I’ll do a flower run in the veg tent before shutting things down for the summer.

I think this current run will be done mid January, so if I time things right, I should be done flowering the next set near the end of March. Perfect timing to start some annuals for the wife’s flower beds next summer!!

It was topping day today at Old Stoner’s house.

Five of the plants (Three Testers a Purple Diesel and an Orangeberry Smoothie) all got topped again and are now working on their final four tops each. All them are now only about four inches tall.

The plan is to veg them until they’re 14-16 inches tall. We’ll see how I do with that. I may get impatient or feel they’re big enough at some point and throw them into flower.

We’re in the home veg stretch now!

Time for an update!

Man, looking back a week to today, the plants have made a lot of progress! Most of the plants are 7-8 inches tall today - that’s twice as tall as a week ago. Another 7 or 8 inches and they’ll be ready to flip. I figure ten days from now max and I’ll be flipping them.

Here’s the whole veg tent:

And here are the @Heisenbeans Testers. This one is a Sundae Driver x Dosi Dos. My favorite plant out of the testers. Beautiful leaves and structure.

This is the Animal Cookies x Triangle Kush nother beautiful specimen!

And this is the GMO x Dosi Dos. It’s shorter than the others.

And the final tester, Lemon Tree. This one happens to be a mutant. Very slow growing and almost verigated leaves. Very Bushy! The leaves stay quite small. I’m going to veg this one as long as it takes to get a decent size. I’ll pop another seed or two of this on the next round and hopefully get a regular plant.

Here are the other plants in the tent.

This is another @Heisenbeans variety, Purple Diesel. Note the Custom Copper branch spreaders! LOL. Just trying to keep the four tops away from each other

East Coast Sour Diesel, also by @Heisenbeans. The Purple Diesel and ECSD are very similar looking plants.

This one is an Orangeberry Smoothie, by Eso Seeds @thenotsoesoteric

And finally, a Suzie Q CBD plant, the seed for which was kindly donated by @GetOffMyNutes. This one is also slower growing than the THC plants. I’m gonna stick with it though, because CBD truly is medicine. If anyone is suffering from arthritis, try som CBD oil! Worked wonders for me.

Your garden is looking great - and as jumbled up as mine is! fun stuff. I love watching other people that grow similar to how I do - soil, topping for just a few main cola, etc. But then to see how we do things different and seeing the different results. I think having the variety to play with can be a pain, but it keeps things interesting.

Nice work as usual dude!🔥
