You imply that "the USA" itself is in lockstep thinking, it isn't. There is a tremendous amount of disagreement and ignorance on many fronts.
Also, the government of the USA and anywhere else is just a group of individual people pretending they are omnipotent, except none of them have any more right or any less right than every other person. They don't necessarily represent what the people of the USA think, since the people of the USA hold any different view points.
It's good you'd like to help people, but making a person obey you should be tied to some kind of situation where you have the right to do that. like defending your property right etc.
For instance, person x owns a business and says he doesn't care if you wear no mask there and ensures that is known. Isn't that his right ?
What is your problem with simply not going there if you are concerned ?
Or, you own a business and say nobody will be served unless they have a fear mask on, if there are alternatives "allowed" to that, I would simply not give that store my business and wave politely to you as we pass by each other on the way to our choice of a store or business etc.
How does that not satisfy both of us and give us each what we prefer ?
