Don't use anything but stainless steel, other medals will corrode and contaminate your nutes.
Speaking upon nutrients there is truth in Heisens statement of how his past experiences with growing has brought him to a 4 gallon bucket.
For example I’m looking at nutes
CCH2O looks good until you use a 8 or 13 gallon bucket. Grow trees they say.... lol 😂 screw the trees just grow
Good affordable bud. The same nutes in Heisens 4 gallon RDWC is a mere 1/4 of what they use to grow trees 🌲 .
We all know good healthy root mass
In buckets enable bud potential but really how big a root mass is proportional to bud size. There is sliding scale for the big big buds or good affordable bud w/ bag appeal. Your not selling colas lol 😂 big buckets grow trees lol.
HB showed us he is choosing great strains to bring buds of fire potential expressed greatly through a simple 4 gallon bucket !
CCH2O states the following allowances
13g bucket w/roots holds 10g water
8g bucket w roots holds 6g water
4g bucket with roots holds ? 2.5 2.0?
That makes your Rez for nutes 24-29 gallons look at total cost for nutes at that cycle 🤩💪🤩
The roots in solution is all that required and HB is doing 4-5 lbs with a 4x10 12 4 g buckets.🤔
Now also from last videos no veg ...
Seed to harvest 12/12 🤪😳🤪🤩
I sure do enjoy the education thanks HB 👍😊🌱

Nice observation and commentary. Less water usage, for more "efficiency" and great yields. It is very well matched and once tuned is absolutely solid.
Which video are you referring to 12/12 from seed (link)?

hello everybody...I'm hoping to get some good news. I'm about to build this system but I would like to scale up to 24, will that be possible or would I be better off
building two 12 site systems?

It's not low. It's right level with the bottom of the net pot. I had it lifted out for the pic
I've been running where you can see it barely bubbling on the top of the hydroton, which fills up the net pot 1/3 like you suggested in your videos. I know varying water height levels do different things but I've pretty much just been keeping it at this level. Is it too high?

It should be fine

if it was me I would go 1000 gph or close to that.
absolutely not!
396 is even too strong... Using 1.5", the roots are clogging the pipe, we have to reduce the flow using a ball valve else the water level in the buckets aren't the same, near the EPI is higher than the other side.

You'd better use 2" bulkheads, way more space for roots, flow is also way better when you have to drain your system since you are not forced to reduce the gph because of clogging.

But hell yeah 4 gals bucket over 8/13 from CC! Way cheaper (nutrient and RO water)

I also use bigger pipes than 1.5"

Heisen, thank you so much for these tutorials! I’m starting a 4 bucket system (plus epi) using your tutorial as a guide. Going to be using your gg4s1 seeds as well (mailed you pmt yesterday).
Due to plant limitations I need to stick w the 4 pot system. Curious to hear more about your no chiller experiment above. I was thinking with 4 gal pots I’m at 20 gallons plus maybe a 10 gallon raised tote like you did for mixing and adjusting ppm/ph etc.... that gets me to 30 gal total. was thinking a thermoelectric weather chiller plus insulation around the pots might be suitable.
Do you think 10 gal for the mixing tote is suitable size?... and please give me your advice on the chiller size for 30 gal.
I’m under adjustable 1000w hps is a small 5x5 foot room btw in a fairly cool basement. Room temp currently at 76.5 degrees.
You have no idea how much your guidance is helping so many people. Thank you again!!

Whats your res temps running at?? And are you using bennies as well??? Super curious as this is the next thing on my project list.
