@Cob_nUt , what benefits do you see from using 10/14 vs. 12/12?
1.Less expense on my electric.
2.Quicker to sex from seed.
3.Some cultivars finish earlier.
4.Easier environmental management(2 less hours of heat to deal with)
5.I can run 2 flower cycles in 1 24 hour period, and still have 4 hours down time for the day.
6.Terps.It's anecdotal but the few cultivars I still have that I have run under 12/12(it's been years since I have run it) seem to have more nose to them. Or I just became a better gardener?
7.It has slightly increased yeilds in some cultivars I've been running under both schedules.
8. More rest for the plant after being beat down with strong photons consistently for 10 hours.I can see my girls shutting down towards the end of the cycle.
I've also run 11/13 for a year or two before going down to 10/14.

I wonder why these light schedules are not used very often. I like all these advantages that you speak of. @Cob_nUt are there any disadvanta

disadvantages to this lighting schedule?
No disadvantages in my garden.
I can see humidity being an issue at lights out with the 2 extra hours of darkness.I combat humidity issues with a dehumidifier tho.
Was wondering the same thing. My guess is more stretch.
I thunk 12/12 has been beaten into our mj subconscious like Cal-mag being the end all fix all.
There are cultivars that grow under that schedule naturally...I think.Equator area?
12 hours of indoor lighting(assuming you have the proper watt per sq ft) is a bit much.Outside, there's shade at certain times of day, fog, cloud coverage, spectral shifts etc.None of that indoors outside of the shade eresponse sometimes.Plants just being balsted with photons for 12 hours str8 just didn't sit right to me.Nor my wallet when running hps.
I'm a cheap bastard.

My cultivars don't stretch any more or any less....well the one's I'm accustomed to running anyway.
Any new cultivars or beans dropped into the system has their stretch controlled by supercropping, pruning and defoliation.

Another thing.I meant to mention this in another thread but I forget where I was when the thought hit me.
A lot of the breeders, chuckers, bean creators etc... are creating beans under hps.
I wonder if that has any affect on the morphology, phenotypic and genotype expressions when growing said beans under white based leds.

Seems to certainly be a detail not many comment on.

I think I ran the goji I made f2s with under hps. This current run is under 315cmh so Im interested in how they turn out. Ie if there are any differences.

Cowboy cookies #3 just got the chop last night at 10 weeks. She basically didn’t stretch at all and stayed super short. Not as heavy on the yield as either of the other 2 but her smell is totally different. More fruity less rank but it sticks harder. When I leave the garden that’s the one lingering on my clothes. I honestly should have taken her a lot sooner I didn’t expect her to finish so soon. Trichs were about 1/4 amber and that’s a little too much for my liking. All 3 keep popping out white pistils even when they’re done. I have heard that’s a big thing from the stardawg poppa141A47B2-90F2-4476-812F-6967D890006B.jpegDE471580-E16A-45C3-A053-73A789614E28.jpegF214DE98-E546-4D8F-9C32-CFB0D22B1190.jpeg
