I didnt do anything special to get em to pop. Not to say these were properly stored, or were ever in a fridge but they were kept dry in a cigar box in a climate controlled environment for their entire life of storage. Ive used H2o2 on stubborn seeds before with success. 2-3ml of 3% per 32 oz of water oughta do the trick on stubborn seeds to help aid in splitting the seed if you dont want to chance squeezing it with "fat digits". Im sure seeds that old are probably close to petrified lol
pinched the top once, lol, that's it. Goin for main cola, have more height than leg room space, plus flowered after bout a week of veg. It has exploded in last couple days, I must say. Bud sites everywhere

Thanks for the tips. These were stored in a storage shed and went through who knows how many cycles from near frozen to hot, so they are probably just fucked. It's a bummer but I'm also not a guy who claims that everything from back in the day was magically better. Maybe if these had been worked on for the last 25 years instead of sitting gathering dust they MIGHT have been bred into something that could compete with today's better strains, but I also know that what seemed like the best shit you ever saw back then, doesn't really compete with today's top of the top, anyone telling you otherwise probably doesn't have all that accurate of a memory.

If they were exposed to elements changing, large shifts in humidity & moisture, and experienced extreme heat-to cold-to heat, unfortunately they are likely not going to have good germ rates if any at all. No harm in trying if you have a surplus though right? Something might suprise us all. Were you the one who discovered a long lost cig pack stashed in a shed some months back on RIU??

It wasn't me on RIU, but I do have a surplus and then some. I've probably tried popping a couple hundred so far and have hundreds maybe thousands that I haven't tried. I gave some out to guys who tried as well, so I think they are just shot. Almost all FEMS too. I know there was AK47 in there, some kind of lemon smelling Haze strain, SK#1, Durban, Purple indica and an Afhgani that was Orange as Orange gets. Lot's of old school stuff that guys ran back then, half of them crossed with each other who knows how many times. These came from a friend who got out of the game a long time ago, if things had turned out differently he'd probably be a rich man today. He had them all marked, but with his own names for them, so there is no way to know what's what. I just know what he had going on back then because I was lucky to be one of his best friends and smoked all of them many many times.

I'm just late as fuck to the party! some of you guys have ladies already in flower, and I was just able to pick up my beans a few days ago! and I've had my entire 4x8 empty for about 2 months now waiting for the beans bc I said I would make room for them, so I could run the testers and do a nice journal, but from where I'm sitting, I'm so dam late and far behind, I just wasnt in a rush anymore.

Been wanting to try wicking to see if I can pop some seeds that way but don't wanna try that with Heisens gear.
