As far as paranoia goes I've never been noided out. I figure if the government wants you you'll already be gone. So fuck em.
I've gotten that way since the "Rona". I was listening to the Prez speak in Cleveland and he said "we got it all" and it wasn't 5 mins later, the choppers were over my house and 4 big trucks was pulling up the driveway and they took all my plants, including clones of the original cut of Wedding Cake I got off Heisen in early 2019.
They did nothing else but take my shit and piss me off. My brother had died 3 weeks before, and between the two, ruined the rest of my year
So from that day on, I said "fuck em".
There are very few interested in weed whether it's legal or not around here. We've been waiting 50 years and most grew away from it, except for a few of the "ass end of the boomer age" guys like me.
Drug screens won't allow you to smoke anyway.
Nothing will change, except crack downs on plant counts, which everyone will be breaking.

I have a few friends who...when asked why they don't smoke...say "I grew out of it". Of course, they have a beer/cocktail in their hand at the time and are basically alkies...but they DON'T smoke weed.

Ah.....the "Dutch" Buckets...or Bato buckets. This was circa 97-98 in my world. I went to Vancouver in Jan '97 and bought seeds from Marc Emery and when I returned I started my hydro years...this being the first system I purchased/ran. Anybody else run this/these? You could run it drip or flood and drain. The bucket has 2 elbows that fit together to offer the water an out via siphoning...and it floods and nearly fully drains via gravity. I never ran one with the net pot attachment.

Good system but spacing can be an issue on the retail systems. You gotta SOG it or spread em out. If you spread em out this system will grow big plants.

The black market will live forever in NY. Due to utterly weed ignorant politico's running the show.......They are so busy dividing up the money that has not even been made yet that they fucked the farmers for the first year. Check out this article
..well now there is 300,000 lbs of pot that was fresh in fall of '22......still not sold and the new plan is to allow it to be sold at farmers markets (after appropriate fees of course) in .........2024, lol.....that shit is 2 years old. It's really an ugly thing, but that weed will get dumped on someone.....the govt is trying to facilitate it for fucks sake (because they are who fucked up on this deal to begin with) They initially tried the farmers market thing in the spring but it was in violation of their brand new marihootchie law, lofl. A grower can not sell retail! Their law.
2 year old scag sold for top dollar..........who's storing all this weed and how?
Meanwhile there are $100 ounces available from michigan on craigslist.

A rude awakening is coming. But the black market is safe :)

CRAZY how different each state is about all of this. Can you just grow and sell to the dispensary there...if there's one to sell to? Licences/etc?

Here the folks who stepped out on the limb and opened the MMJ shops early on (there were no regs/thoughts by the state that this would happen and it took almost 10 years for it to happen) were the folks who were later offered the licensing ops by the State to also open a "Rec" store. The thought was that these owners were already vetted/had passed the 30 page personal info/disclosure form that was required for MMJ...so rather than open it up to more folks...they went with the licensed MMJ folks ars retailers. You can't just grow here and sell to em like in the first year or so/before there were any laws/regs. I would if I could...believe me. Especially the bubble hash end of it...which few fuck with. It's all "Tane-ted" shit. Nope. not me.

Our Craigslist was once full of clone offerings...shatter...weed...whatever. Not anymore though. The clamped down hard here. Yer playing with fire to openly say you have somethin for sale. Now yer stepping on the STATE'S toes...LOL. Whatever. We just grow what we want. Fuck all of that shit. It isn't worth the exposure/hassle/risk like it used to be. I'm sure there are folks still slingin' bags from their grow...but it's a rarity. It's too easy to just go buy it...

Good luck up there...

I am in NY also. I was hoping we would be a lot more progressive here since we were decriminalized for a good bit. Its amazing how they fucked up this process. My city alone which isn't that big wants to open 3-4 dispos which would have helped some of the local farmers (as we surely have a market here). The 3-4 companies have been waiting for the process to start back up (which it finally did). I feel bad for the farmers... Especially the people who started with a passion for Cannabis and just enough to get their dreams started but now they are screwed and sitting on old Weed with no income to support new grows. And supposedly, home grows (for non-medical cardholders) is supposed to come out with their legality and regulations around this summer of 2024. I am not sure if they will still follow through with their word or have to push it back since they screwed over the recreational industry.

To sell to the dispensaries, you need to have a license, unfortunately. I am not sure what the regulations are for a license. Obviously they test the end product for analysis, but I am not sure if NYS requires facility testing to make sure the Product follows "healthy" growing guidelines or not. That is something I wanted to look into. It would be nice if we could sell to the dispos though! Currently we are only allowed to "share" Cannabis, no selling, gifting, etc without a license.

LOL....let's continue on with yet another phase in the saga of the ever-changing/ever-evolving hydro adventures of the past.... the "Ebb and Gro" (mine was 18 pots)

While it had been around for a bit before I grabbed one.....this approach was about 2005 or so in my world. I had multiple houses and multiple systems going because...when you run a hydro store...equipment is cheap on the wholesale side...and I was still rollin' hard and wayyyy into trying out anything/everything I could find space to run...obviously...doing hydro @ the time for the yields. It's an OK system but you can have a good flood if shit fucks up. A friend who opened a MMJ dispo had one of these as well...set up in the dispo....and the dispo was above a bank.... and guess what happened? 55 gals of water isn't alot...but it's enough....LOL. Fortunately I never had THAT much fun with mine...but like every other system...it got 3-4-5-6 cycles and then I did something else.

But.....LOL....I still have the controller....and I'm using the 55 gal barrel for water storage.....and some of the pots in the contest grow. Heehee....the love just keeps coming.

It's been legally to buy and medical growing here since 2020..
The black market is still thriving here cause we have the 2nd highest taxes on ganja in country and prices in dispensaries are sickly overpriced...

Then on top of that, when u do go buy from any Illinois shop, u don't get to see the actual buds / products until u pay for em.. Smh.. u pick your choices off of a computer screen and the pics on their website aren't of actual products...

So it's like walking in a Casino...

On the low side for their low grade u will pay 40/ eighth
And what they consider their best , they will charge 60 a eighth plus taxes... Unreal..
So ya with those prices and taxes, the black market is fully alive here yet...

Man what I'd do to be able to put 6 plants out in the middle of yard, getting all day sun....
Never have I been able to do so here.. All them years of growing in the shadows was nice but to think of what could b possible out in sun=🌲 lol
🤘
it's like nobody has the right to use sunlight, except the gov backed solar farms, that produce tax monies, as a end product for the goverment. sunlight is the best thing to grow cannabis , monsters!

There was a span for 2009-mid 2010 here where you could just walk into a MMJ dispo (with your Med card, that is) and show em yer shit...and usually make a sale. Cash. Boom. The only problem was going from retail on yer own...to selling basically wholesale to them. It was easy but you lost $$.

Once regulations came into play...the State required the dispensaries (now both Med and Rec) to "vertically integrate"....and to grow at least 70% of their retail weed in house/etc. The other 30% can be purchased...but it must be from another licensed dispensary or grow facility. No little guys...anywhere. Early on folks still had interest...but as time went on...their customers migrated to the shops where they could get edibles/foodstuffs/bud/concentrates all in one place...legally.

Here in CO we have regs surrounding outdoor grows...and some places...cities for the most part...have banned growing outside. IF you can grow outside...it's supposed to be in a "locked" and secure set up...and shelided from public view. Because the State decided to not truly "legalize" and let folks grow/sell/sort it all out themselves...there's still enough $$$$ in it for rippers to run shod....and the stank in neighborhoods/etc....it all just doesn't play out to being truly "legal". Every state that passes laws will TWEEK those laws...so run while you can...cus once they figure out what the latest loophole/etc is...a new law will drop.

I doubt home growers can sell to dispos in NY, because NY is a mess like MA is. In MA all of the weed for the dispos is provided by large commercial grow operations that have to pay huge money just to start the application process. There's no such thing as a "medical caregiver" type of program here.

Our MMJ dispensaries/game is separate from the Recreational game. A guy could own both...and they can be next door to each other....or even in the same building...but they must have separate entrances and separate showrooms. Tax on the Rec side can be up to 20%. Tax on the med side can only be 'state Tax"...about 3% I believe. The Med side also has far stronger edibles....and I'm pretty sure you can buy 2 ounces (or 16 grams of hash product) on the Med side wheras Rec is 1/2 of that (1 oz/8 grams of hash limit per purchase)...and edibles on the Rec side top out @ 10mg each....max 100 mg in a box. I've seen 500mg edibles on thr MMJ side. LOL. Boom.

Licenses here were 10-25K at the onset. you CAN transfer/buy someone's license...but now...it's a million dollar game to do so...especially if they bought the top tier licenses that allow huge production. We have dispensary licenses...Off Premise Grow Facility license...Edible manufacturer''s licenses...licenses..licenses..licenses. There are no legal sales for individuals though you can gift up to 1 oz of pot/has without any criminality entering the picture...as long as no money/barter/renumeration takes place. It's a real GIFT. We had a few years of the "Donation" clowns runnin' around...doinb the "buy this t-shirt for $300...get a free ounce" kinda shit...LOL. It's been an amazing thing to watch...

MA was very clear with their wording to prevent that here. There were some clowns selling a $300 ZipLoc bag with a "Free Ounce" in it on craigslist and they got busted very quickly.

I ended up with two of those one was the standard 3 gallon the other was the larger 5 gallon buckets. The float valves sucked big time on both of them.

No, you can't sell shit without the grow license. Can't sell anything if you have a med card. If you want to be a caretaker and grow for somebody else, you can not charge a dime and your plant count does not increase....Ha, that effectively ends that shit right there. Every little item is like a fee franchise and you need approval/licenses for everything you do.

they are clueless
It is now legal for adults 21 and older to possess up to three ounces of cannabis and up to 24 grams of concentrated cannabis for personal use in New York.
Ok, so they are saying if you need to hold quantity get your dabpress cranking! :)

Especially the people who started with a passion for Cannabis and just enough to get their dreams started but now they are screwed and sitting on old Weed with no income to support new grows.
those people will get fucked and washed out of the game. Maybe this "delay" was intentional.

1699553493976.png
notice they told them it's a go in april 2022 all the while they had no open dispensaries. They are also claiming first legal sales as being Dec of 2022. The law says they will open up recreational, 18 months after. So mid summer '24. But if they even fuck that up a little they will effectively kill the grow season outside until 2025.........don't be surprised

I have the smaller bucket version of the Ebb and Floodyerhouse...LOL. There were certainly a few good floods with those.

I gotta say that here in CO the majority of the voters were sold on legal pot because of the 20% sales tax revenues. Like when they say they will lower taxes...no matter what goes bye-bye/etc...it's all they hear. We were lucky our Rec law allows for home grows and for no weight limits from the plants you grow as long as it stays on your property. Off premises/public possession limit is still limited to an oz.

Our MMJ to rec transition was seemless because they used the same vetted folks as they allowed to play on the MMJ side. Nothing else changed but the ease of purchase for anyone over 21. No public use. No protection in the job place/etc. Marketed/sold as "SAFER than alcohol"...but you can't buy it or smoke it at the Baseball game like you can a beer. Better than nothing...but still lacking/discriminatory overall.

I really hope that ohio legislature doesn't repeal or rape the new law beyond all recognition. I'm pretty sure if they want to keep their job this next election they let the will of the people stand.
