I wanna know how you get roots to come outta the smooth part of the stem. Most of mine root from where a leaf was cut off.

To be honest, I have no idea lol. I dont scrape stems or anything. Just cut em at an angle, dip em in clonex and pop em in the collars. Could it be a strain dependent thing?

Interesting concept. I have only seen roots from the buried nodes and bottom as well using horticubes. But I don't dip that much in the gel, mainly just the bottom half inch or so to cover any open wounds on the bottom from the prep.

Yea I cover about a half inch, directly at the cut at the bottom of the stem. Just enough to coat it and never more than a half inch up

But - I have had 100% success using the horticubes. I don't clone much, but when I do it has been perfectly reliable, and I mostly clone from flower.

The sprayer in the bucket is one that spins. It wasnt exactly center so it broke a very small amount of root tips. Rather than takes days of continuous damage I opted to transplant into coco. It may slow them down but I think they're at a point where they'll continue to grow

My grandaddy purp seeds were returned to sender due to wrong zipcode and they didnt put which floor. AI itll be a while b4 I see those. The super silver haze has been stuck at customs for 2 weeks. Says processed so I dontsee the issue. May have to get a replacement order if the company is willing or just outright buy them again. I'll let the proper time pass and see about a replacement first.
In other seed news, I ordered some dosi cherries from an Instagram growing friend and its coming with free testers so look out for those being grown in the coming months

Quick update.: snowday!!! Clones acclimated to the transplant to coco cups extremely well. All but one which barely had roots. Topped the gorilla glue and fire O.G . Mark my words, that fire o.g is a dude.

Two black widow regs (not doing well) and o.g kish fem in the cup. The BW Is recoevibg the same thing as everything else which is fine so not sure. Maybe a finicky strain?
