dude you outlined almost to the tee exactly what happened to me at the fake overgrow site. i'm not the type to accpet shit especially when it's based on an assumption that is not only wrong but provable easily. i also have a nasty habit of using humor, wit, and far better comebacks than my attackers can dish out and my replies to them always have truth at the core. that alone pisses off your avg. dick head and i know this fr a fact because i've been doing it most of my adult life lol.Well my first post
I just got banned from RIU
First a thread in the Politic section then a few hrs ago banned from the entire site.
I've been a member there for like 3 years. 99% of the time, my participation there is to share my growing experience and to help new comers with their growing questions.
Unfortunately the 1%, I sometime happened to land in the Politics section. One of those time is today, a click bait at that. Threads after threads in there is 'only' about trashing Trump. There's no sensible political discussion there.
I'm not that political myself, to me politicians are all the same, regardless of political affiliation, regardless of countries. But, just like others, sometimes you cant help yourself but to opine a counter argument to something you don't believe in. And that's my mistake.
As already pointed out by this thread, the only opinion there that is acceptable is to bash Trump and if you point out the error of their arguments(bashing) or the failing of their own preferred candidate, the name calling start.
Most who favored the conservative view, are bullied to silence or endure a barrage of insults and name calling. And this is where RIU sucks. If you stood your ground and dish back what they throw at you, it unravels them and they dont know how to handle somebody who fights back and wont back down....the answer....you're banned.
Funny thing is while I was blocked from replying in a thread, the rest of Trump basher continued to attack my posts as if I fall silenced against their intelligent insults. To show to the rest of RIU that how right they are. It's like the owner, tied your hands behind you and let his lunatic gang beat you up.
This is the part that makes me realize that RIU is lame. There's is no fair fight there.
I dont care if I see RIU again, what rollitup(or Unclebuck or whatever his name is), little by little he's turning off experienced growers from his forum.

Sorry to hear that buddy. I guess that seems to be their answer to anyone who dares to fight back. Doesnt matter your actual valubale contribution to the growing community.
That's not where it ends. We also have the ability to stop visiting their website, which hurts them financially, and lets them know that we won't tollerate their bullshit. Rollitup/PotRoast (same person) bashes anyone who doesn't agree with his political views, even in the growing sections, and he doesn't care about what you or I think about his behavior, because the money still comes rolling in from people who put up with it continuing to visit the site. The site is more of a far left circle jerk than a growing site and I'd prefer to frequent forums that don't act that way. They've also gone as far as doxxing members of their site. What people really should start doing is we should all start complaining about the way they treat their members to those who pay to advertise on ther site. They are nothing without advertisers.
I personally just try to avoid going there. When I do go there, I usually just check in on a couple of threads I was active in to see if anything is new, without logging in. They are a toxic group of people and they've come here in the past under sock accounts to stir up bullshit.
Yeah, he goes by "PotRoast" and "RollitUp" over there. He's the one that claims he doesn't run the site. When I cared more I did a ton of research and figured out who he and UncleBuck really are and where they live. I've since deleted all the info I found because nothing good was going to come from holding onto it. Needless to say, though, that both of them have some serious personality issues.
I call bullshit. Unlike this forum, big tech has 302 protections to keep them from being sued for their censorship. twitter would have folded long ago if people could prosecute them for violating their freedom of speech. They are NOT a private business in that they have gubmint protections. Comparing them to this or any other forum is apples to bowling balls.

I don't know why they'd even need special protections if people understood the hierarchy of rights. They only need those protections because people have circumvented them with some success. Anyone trying to sue any private business for censorship of legal activities should be laughed out of court. If a business were trying to censor someone, like a whistleblower, because the business were doing illegal things, then of course there are laws for that. But, someone with hurt feelings suing because they posted an unwanted comment that was removed? Pffft, they're in the wrong country to complain about that.
The protections were designed to protect them as neutral hosting sites, not responsible for content posted.
