Ya 1100 a lb is cheap. Unless its that brick or mids. Its legal recreational here and still bm dealers are getting 10-15 a gram. Thats cause the dispensary is charging top dollar then taxes rape u as well.
Example, A buddy i no got 3 grams of concentrates and spent 220 bucks b4 taxes. After taxes raped him his final total was 302.50$.. Fuck that i dont care how good it was no way id pay that.
But if u got medical card u get to skip the long lines and taxes are way more less than recreational. Thats why im getting my med card. Not to go to dispensarys but so i can legally grow 5 or less plants at home.
The few legal hotbeds are overproducing and its definitely affecting pricing around me. I can see 1100 elbows of stuff 98% of people would be fine with being readily available.
In my neighboring prohibition land a buddy is getting multi-elbow Cali overflow mail-order and procuring local stuff. The Cali stuff isn't THAT bad but it's obviously salt grown because it doesn't age well, in 2 weeks on most stuff the nose/flavor/texture is trash. The local stuff is nice but much more expensive. He gets a lot of "gray market" stuff, black market in "legal" packaging. He does get some top notch legit legal shatter as well, very reasonable prices on his end.
Either way it's 10/g with price break starting at 120 half/225 oz. I know for a fact he's paying 2200 for the local stuff and 1600 for the import. The import probably couldn't get too much better from the facilities they're coming from, the local stuff is pretty nice. It's passing through 2-3 hands before it hits a consumer, the Cali could be hitting 8 sets just through trimming, packaging, shipping, etc. That handling is the difference because the local stuff is obviously dried too fast just like the Cali stuff.
The local is definitely also salt grown but 2-6 weeks fresher, and partially sourced from plants found via seed. Most popular clones are held locally but separately. The bikers growing are still a thing in my major metropolitan area.... they've been hoarding/growing the chocolate diesel, headband, deathstar, chem 4, bubba, some kind of og, nl5haze that goes by something else I don't want to post as it would probably reveal my identity, and a few other older clone only strains for close to 2 decades.
Pricing is all relative to a specific situation. Its about who you know as much as what the market dictates.
I hope it goes legal nationwide just for the peace of mind. Legality doesn't really change the price at this point in time for most because the black market is gonna thrive either way until the truly big dogs come in to stock gas stations with their product instead of some tobacco shelf space.
