Care to explain your greases pieces setup you posted in reds thread? How that watering setup works or point me to a link explaining it?
Yea man super simple setup. So you fill a tray with perlite, then fill it with water leaving about an inch between the water and top of perlite. Then you set a fabric pot on top and it wicks the water up. Your plants get the perfect amount of water at all times and the micro life in your soil just booms. Kinda the same concept as sips but idk if you can actually call this a sip. Works really well for organic living soil. Also it’s like hydro growth with organic soil. Once the roots make it down into the perlite they just blow the fuck up. Plus you can leave for extended periods of time and not worry.

Ah so the roots exit the pot and continue their reaching into the perlite. Makes sense now. Thanks for the explanation.

Yea the roots on the grease’s might not make it to the perlite cuz I didn’t veg them long and only gave them a week in that pot before I flipped them. The roots making it to the perlite isn’t necessary but it definitely increases growth rates in veg. But even without the roots making it down there the soil will wick that water up as needed and keep optimum moisture in the soil so the soil health and plant health are in tip top shape.

Thanks red. They aren’t too dry it’s just that high of a temperature when drying will destroy your terps. They’ve only been chopped for a couple days and they were only at that temp for about 4 hrs maybe. they’re still really moist they’re just terpless now lol. Thanks for the idea tho I appreciate you.
Lol that would be a good name for a stoner spoof movie with ditzy stoner chicks

I certainly consider them to be modified SIPS. As mentioned they are great for LOS in tents where you typically need larger quantities of soil to sustain your microbial life etc. Large smart pots are wonderful for root development and because they can be hard to water sometimes the wicking completely saturates your medium giving you the best of everything IMO.

Im thinking I might do a run with smaller smart pots just so the roots are able to hit the res faster without a long veg period. Won’t do an LOS, but something with enough nutrients for water only still.

I’ve always wondered about doing a salt run like that and just adding the nutrient solution to the rez but idk if it would cause problems and the ph swings and shit idk much about synthetic nutes I’ve always been organic I just did my first salt run a couple months ago

I’m the same way. Hempy buckets are the closest I’ve ever gotten to hydro and I love spending time in my garden but checking pH of solutions etc. isn’t something I want to be doing. I use MegaCrop but don’t pH and couldn’t tell you what’s in my well water. I know it’s heavy in iron, but other than that???

When I do try it out, I’ll likely just set up a tent with Floraflex.

The wheels in my head are really spinning now on doing single cola sea of green in a perlite bath...

With the MC, I suggest a stock solution since theres material in it that need to dissolve.

Add the salt nutes right into the res one at a time and give a quick swirl in the water to mix. If you use cal/Mg be sure to add that first, then mix the Micro, then the grow, then the bloom in that order. The synthetics usually have buffers in them to help maintain a steady pH.
Ill try another salt run sometime in the future but I didn’t get great results. It wasn’t bad, just not as high quality as organics. I’m sure I could dial it in if I actually gave it a chance lol.

I gotta say after growing out A few offerings from cannaventure I’m extremely disappointed. This lemon crash og is trash. Out of 7 seeds, 4 last run and 3 this run, it’s trash. Not a single pheno had any lemon, or any og. about as frosty as hemp lol no terps and grew like shit. Not gonna yield shit and those were $100 packs.
I ran several of his strains but nothing twice. I know some folks got lucky with the LVTK.
