Schwaggy P's Random Stuff

I actually witnessed a pair of birds take the seedlings from the Skunky Brewster cross only. I thought I had them in a safe place, never had that happen.
I'll check Strainly...:sneaky:

Hell’s Hypotenuse? Interesting genetics, fun name, looks killer as always.

Thanks for all you do.
A mostly OG plant [HAOG x (Triangle Kush x 88G13HP)] that is expressing some very HAOG dominant bud structure. I'm happy to do it, thank you.

Now that you have the class asking questions, (raises hand too) lol, which one represents the old school classic Road Kill Skunk the most? I'm trying to remember if that was one of the goals, but my memory isn't as photographic as it used to be now that I'm getting older.

I hope that when your seeds drop you release some of these skunk selections and the old school cool I am looking forward to trying any and all sooo tasty keep up the fine work I want you to have my moneyView attachment 12342
:ROFLMAO: This skunk project is one I really want to work until I'm seeing at least 50% of a pack spit out the plant I'm seeing in my head. I may release some of the beans from these skunk steps here and there, so if you just can't wait and don't mind a bit of a hunt, the option is available. Thanks for the encouragement and interest!

Thank you.;)

They are looking very consistent considering they're different lines. The Chem'91skva is showing through well in them. Both fathers have longer and narrower leaf blades compared to the '91. You should be in for some nice Chemdog expressions.🤤👌
First 2 pics are the Granny Skunk cross, the second 2 are the Brewster cross.

Leaf structure is similar but not the branch structure. The Granny X is thick with lower branches consistently joining in early. Maybe leaning more OG.

The Brewster X looks more vertical, look at the branching.

They should do well outdoors. Guess I better see. Means they will get topped today so wanted to show this before topping.

Would you prefer a smoke report at the end or do you enjoy these progress reports?

Finding an RKS in seed form is difficult. One of the main reasons being that the Roadkill Skunk name was at a time when strain names were based mostly from some clear trait the bud expressed. So while it was called Roadkill Skunk, this does not mean it was necessarily a Skunk #1 derivative. Many breeders/growers are convinced that the RKS may most likely have been an Afghani or Afghan dominant Afghan Skunk line.

I have also read of the RKS coming from Skunk #2 and/or Skunk #3 from the first breedings of Skunk, that were selected against because of the offensive odor and the associated security risks of growing something so intensely foul.

Depending on the original story/source for RKS, you would have to either find/hunt acrid Afghani lines or pheno hunt Skunk #1 to find the skunky expression from the pool. Reading through many grow journals of Mr. Nice's Shit (Skunk#1), it seems RKS phenos do pop out, so I've decided to go looking for one. Shit is a solid Skunk #1 line using original parent stock from the 80s. The smoke reports also mention some of that ceiling-less high that seems to be lacking in some modern plants. There are some cuts that get brought up in RKS discussion, like Shoreline, so you could find derivatives of these known offensive plants if you wanted a stank plant.

This Afghan Skunk project is focusing more on the astringent nose burning solvent terps of the GC mother. It is more of the garlic/onion/chemical side of the skunk spectrum. The Shit hunt will be to find a classically "skunky" plant that exhibits the awesome breeding qualities that makes Skunk #1 such great parent stock. I love Skunk and Afghan Skunks are probably my favorite type.

Thanks for the update! I can see the branching difference between them. Progress reports are great, so feel free to update as you see fit.🙂

What do you think about the Heirloom Afghani S1 from Riot seeds sounds nice but have to take out a loan just to afford the hunt sorry kids no college daddy got to find that skunk spray pheno
I'm aware of it, but I have not grown it out, so can't really say. I don't usually pay more than $100/pack of anything unless it's either a vintage preserve or well-worked line with a great chance to find a solid expression that moved me to buy the seeds in the first place.

Dominion Seed skunks were my last packs at around $150/pack. Every breeder is totally within their right to charge whatever they'd like, but I personally can't justify a $500/pack purchase. I'm sure there are nice Afghani plants in there, but the price to find out is outside of my comfort zone.

+1 (y) on Mr. Nice's Shit. I always thought trying to recreate the best representation of the RKS I remember would be a fun project in the future. Mr. Nice's Shit and Seedsman Original Skunk #1 were the two I wanted to start with.

Like you mentioned, Shit is a Skunk / Afghani and Seedsman Original Skunk #1 is Afghani Indica / Acapulco Gold / Columbian Gold. Both are offered in regs. Someday I hope to embark on that journey.

Thanks, even if I don't find a bullseye RKS pheno, I'm sure a nice non-sweet skunk will be found. I have some more Mr. Nice Seeds that will get involved in the future (G13Skunk, Shark Shock, Black Widow, and G13 Haze).

I've been sitting on the Dominion Skunk beans, I thought that would have been appearing in a lot of other breeders' work but that doesn't seem to be the case (might have to pull those out of the fridge🤔). I also have a cut of Giesel (Chem D x Mass Super Skunk) which will be getting involved in all the skunky madness at some point.
