First - SSHP x Baguettes. Gonna take a few days to figure this one out. It's a pine/gas with a little skunk when ground up. Smells and tastes delicious. I heard that the cannabis cup winning nugs were never the tops, but the perfectly shaped set-or-three right under the top. Better than the lower tops on a tree and the main cola. Who knows. I just left them attached to be able to find them. Same size as all the lower tops.

The buzz is all over the place. Or I am. I got a lot of stuff done in about an hour - random stuff - but I'm really high and going through the motions. Racy is the first thing that comes to mind, but it is more of a mental racing than physical. I want to do stuff because sitting is just sitting. I think sitting watching a movie or concert that kept your interest would be fine.

Anyway, crazy good. The between-crops soil is working better in tubs than in a cloth pot. It feels great and the worms are everywhere. In the big pot it dried out around the outside and the worms spent more time huddling in the moisture than working the soil. In tubs with the lids mostly on they huddle at the top. So the mulch layer is "SuperMoss" orchid moss grown in Ca. I have some in the worm bin and they tore it up except for the stems, which look like roots more than stems. The dish racks keep the cat out and the saucer keeps the middle moss wetter than the stuff around the edge so there's no escapees. I pulled it all off the top into a separate tub and it'll go back onto whatever I don't use.

I wanted to make sure it looked good, felt good, smelled "good" (for soil) before I put new plants in it. No moldy smells, the worms all seem active, etc. It is now in a warmer part of the house until I need it for the next plants.

So the Harlet flower cut in the folgers dwc pimp bucket's root ball is now definitely to the point where I could start cutting things off of her and I don't think she would really care. Do you rekon it would be OK to top her now(which I plan on doing at some point) H.A.F. or would you wait?

You need to watch it for a week or so to make sure you aren't cutting off the new growth you need.

@Zaphod420 the fact that the top is growing does not mean that the whole plant is going to be a plant again. If you top you may kill any progress it's made. You may only get growth from a few nodes. The ONLY thing that matters is the new growth. Topping a flower clone should probably only be to get the clones from it and ditch the rest of the plant.

Genetically, flower clones have massive growth potential. Keep everything on the first one and figure it out. It takes a lot of leaf and secondary-shoot pruning at the base of where everything starts. There are little cup-shaped leaves that form along the stem making little pockets, and many of those pop a shoot. It can be a jungle right at the base so for airflow purposes keeping it naked there is beneficial - but it'll support many flower sites, no reason to kill any off

Right on, I have only really done a flower clone once before and didn't really pay attention to it until it started throwing 5's again then I cleaned it up, topped it a couple times, and threw it to flower. I will watch these new flower cuts much more close to try and get a better handle on how and where they grow from. Oh, and I totally agree about the massive growth potential on flower cuts as I just got done cleaning it up to get it ready for a scrog and it was all kinds of thick and I must have come close to filling up a small trash can full of leaves and small branches that had no chance of making the scrog. This is my last cut of my Blueberry Brisco County Line(Back) and I am going to be putting her down for a while. She sure was easy to grow & a true 8 week finisher and goes great with morning coffee. Really good wake&bake weed, hell I miss her already. :ROFLMAO:

The Chocolate Thai Zkittles from Riot gets the axe tomorrow after 11 weeks.
IMG_8716.JPG
I soaked it and snipped the fans off. I think that does help them dry slower rather than plucking the leaves at the trunk.
IMG_8721.JPG
Then after I got done with the plants I was chopping these up to dry for the worms and I got this smell that's still on my fingers just from fan-leaf-stem trichs. It's a combination of cinnamon and cloves - strong. This is a new one for me, and it ain't from the Zkittles. Had one cute little mutant leaf there on top.

I am going to try letting the babies ride the solo cup longer and get a little top heavy then the regs are going into 1g's until I sex them. I may even keep them in the mini tent after transplant if they aren't too tall. I want to run more regs but going right to 5g's is limiting. If I use the 1g as an interim I can run 10-12 plants to get the 5-6 girls I am shooting for. The fems have been to offset the fact that I can't fit a dozen 5g's anywhere waiting on plants to show. I have about twice as many regs as I have fems that I still need to try for the first time.

Everything got top-dressed with crustacean meal, craft blend, insect frass, and a fat cup full of worm castings. Basically a gallon of castings divided between the 18 pots. Even the ones with red tags that are likely males, just so all the soil gets the same treatment.
Some of these are getting fat tops. Even a few of the leafy ones are hiding some bulk.
IMG_8729.JPG
One The Cream is looking male, nothing on the Road Dog's yet
IMG_8732.JPG
One of the RIR is 90% likely male and the other one is not showing. My girls always show later so I am guessing the two marked males is all I'm losing.
IMG_8734.JPG
The CLHP is going to be on its own schedule since I know I want bulk. It's going into a 7g pot. The SCK is also getting a 7g and I am keeping it in some form regardless of sex. If it's male it will likely be the one I chuck with, and the drop after next would probably be a bunch of whatever I want to pollinate with it. If it's a girl I'll probably clone it like the CLHP - and maybe mother it for a while. The Williams Wonder and Thunderhole are both potential pollen catchers, but I want to smoke them first so they go into 1g's until I sex 'em. They got a pretty good watering, but still haven't been thoroughly soaked. That's next, then the transpants after it dries a little.
IMG_8731.JPG
So I cull a few males, shift the remaining closet plants into the tent, put two 7g's and two 5g's in the closet in veg, and keep the three regs in 1g's in the mini tent if they don't fit in the closet. I also took 2 Grandpa's Stash clones for the hell of it. They are both soaking in an aloe-slice then they'll go into a horticube later today. Coot talked about doing that, and I wanted to try it before I "need" to clone.

Put the late-flower tent on the contest thread. The 4 regs are still a no show. This is where I think flipping early really doesn't matter that much. They aren't going to flower until they are ready anyway. They should be a respectable size when they get done stretching. Put some spreader bars on the ones with two tops taller.
IMG_8739.JPG
Heat mat for the clones and keeping everything else warmer. I soaked the 6 cups and stuck some marbles in between the cups so it could drain.
Added the Beauveria Besiana root inoculant, coconut water powder and aloe powder at about 1/4 strength, and a bump of Recharge just enough to brown the water some.
IMG_8738.JPG
Grandpa's stash semi-flower clones look like they'll make it. I had left 6 limbs on a few until I saw what made a better canopy of 4. The rest were regs and I am not cloning those or keeping males yet. I have the closet empty so in a day or two I'll re-pot the 6. As soon as the threat of frost outside has passed, or at least to the point where I only have to bring these in for the odd night here or there, I'll start gearing things towards my chuck. I'm taking my time, but I can start keeping things of interest.

When I do make beans, I am not breeding. On purpose bagseeds at best. One chuck, one time, lots of females. One male, or several clones of the same male, or maybe a few males from the same pack.

The only goal is to get a big variety of junk I made to hunt through, but stuff that was done with intention instead of by accident. I am probably going to base the male on something I want to F1, then the other catchers will be things that seem like a good match and/or completely opposite.

Since these are tiny and probably won't need to be staked up I am just opening up the center I pruned some lower stuff last night on several, and a few lost some shade leaves that were pointing to the center. Tonight those two upper left and lower right will get snipped and any like that on the others. Since the plants will be small I'm leaving more lower shoots - for now.

Here's the two runts of each tester variety. That shelf came as a 3-high but I disassembled them to make adjustable plant risers.
IMG_8777.JPG
Here's a tall one ant the runtiest. Probably produce the same weight.
IMG_8780.JPG
I have been drawn to the purples on That One, and This One was in the back of the tent going unnoticed. The tops look normal for now but the lowers have lots of color.

This will be my first time vegging in the mini tent for any amount of time, but since I have the clones going I might as well use the real estate. These are the regs and 'short' 2 gallons, which are about an actual 5qt bucket size.
IMG_8782.JPG
And these are the fems. The open spot is for the Sky Cuddler in a 5g. Male or female I'm keeping it so no need for an interim pot. CLHP is in a 7g since I am keeping it in veg for a bit.
IMG_8784.JPG
The Cream mutant/runt/2-top is a girl so I am sticking her in the 5g of one of the ones I just culled and see how the transplanting from the short-wide pots goes.
