Chocolate Edibles

PICK YOUR OWN
If you make infused coconut oil all it takes is cacao powder and a double boiler and you make your own infused chocolate. I think it is like a cup oil for a cup cacao but would have to make sure I made some awhile ago combine and stir with whisk in double boiler. When pouring in molds you have to be quick or put back on heat

I use a big 100ml craft syringe for filling molds. Lots less mess and spillage. Cut the tip opening as wide as needed.

After snacking on these and feedback from the local crowd. These were a big success. Very simple, delicious.

Basically two ingredients, the chocolate and your oil. That bag of choc in the first post turned out to be the shiznitz! High...ly recommended :)

I used 1/2 cup oil and 14 ounces chocolate wafers. Heat up in a double boiler till melted, pour then refrigerate.
Done!
Converting the ml capacity of my molds to chocolate was a bitch. 24 teaspoons in a half cup and I wanted to get 48 doses, 1/2 teaspoon each. I was short of that by a good 10 percent. Ok though, just a bit stronger per piece.

These are so much simpler than gummies. I'm gonna be looking at some of the harder polycarbonate choc molds. Might as well make some bon bons, lol. But really the draw will be mounds bars type stuff.

I did a batch where I used little pressed puck pieces of decarbed keif.

I filled the molds halfway with chocolate, laid the appropriate dose on each, then topped it with melted peppermint bark. It worked, but you could just eat the kief puck...

I measured how much an individual mold section holds. figure what you want in one piece - small numbers - easy math - multiply by the number of bears...

Technically I could just cast the oil. That coconut oil locks up tight enuff ;)

I did that, I have all the ml capacities of my molds. I used a conversion calculator online... ml to chocolate ounces... and that, was not entirely accurate. Probably because it is a liquid to dry measure calculation. First run, I'll adjust my fire accordingly next round. I might go up to 1 lb choc next time and then again I might be letting it stay the same. These are real good on a candy level alone.

stay with the metric instead of twisting it to ounces.
I use the same measurements for everything, so the only difference is weed potency.
Keif = 50% THC = 500mg THC per gram of keif.
Flowers = 20% THC = 200mg THC per gram of flower.
You could also use 15% or 25% if you have a good idea what the strain is like but I just keep the math easy.
I calculate the doses to either 25mg or 50mg.

For some reason I keep the measurements separate.
I know the mold will hold 10ml per compartment and has 15 compartments. I need 150ml of product (chocolate, gummy, whatever)
It has 15 doses so I need "X" amount of keif or flower mixed in based on mg of THC.
Then mix it up :)

Ok, I got some molds that are 7 ml. I would like to make 45 pcs @ 7 ml each. I will use 1/2 cup of oil. How much chocolate do I need?

that's a lot of oil.
7ml x 45 = 315ml
1/2 cup = 120ml
195ml of chocolate would complete the math, but would it solidify? To be honest that is why I mainly use keif. It's potent without adding volume.

How much THC in that 1/2 cup?

That half cup has 1/4 ounce Dinoberry bites bud infused into it.......twice. From the online calculators I'm seeing, these pieces should be plus or minus 25 mg each. That's using 20% as the THC content in the weed.

You answered 195 ml the chocolate converter says fluid oz needed 237 ml. And your answer was where I came in at the first round........The math was/is short as it relates to chocolate was the point I was trying to make. Further, you need 1.35 times more if the chocolate is solid.
On the scale, I weighed out 8 grams of solid choc and I'm going with that this round. That is 319 ml on the choc converter. It should be close..I think, lol:confused:
If not, it will be closer than last round.

That is why I quit infusing stuff. Every time you do it you lose some certainty of the content. I have a freezer full of trim I have been putting off messing with. Lots of keif in the future :)

I meant 3 grams. I am going to try the chocolate when the bulk store comes back. Nice to have variety and coconut oil would melt right into it easy.

3 X .20 X 1000= 600 mg of THC in 3 grams. A nice 5 to 6 hour buzz. Sometimes i dont want to eat 10 gummies. But the chocolate. I could make 1 piece have 250 mg each with concentrates.

After i get this next batch dried i will give it a go. I am sure there will be plenty of stuff to decarb from it.

Those Merckens Coating Wafers that I used were awesome and foolproof. I see Bezo's has jacked the price now 25%. I originally got the 10 lb for $30. Even @$40............the stuff flat out rocks. Whatever you get, get it "dark chocolate" It will become more milk chocolate as you mix it with oil. I highly rec those wafers.

My jello stuff is gonna get dusty. Chocolate rocks! Seems more creative too, I'm sniffing around the chocolate molds on ebay for some hard polycarbonate molds. Hey........let there be Bob Bons! That way you can medicate the filling too!~ lol

100mgs last night, tolerance is growing.
