Having the bio-mass and variety of smoke that I do, I frequently take a break from the fresher stuff and pull out older stuff that was dank enough to hang on to (instead of edibles). Some of it doesn't age as well, and the smoke is not as good as it woud be as something else. Some ages really well and deserves a pic.

Cowboy Caviar, chopped 4/23/23. It still smells nasty when broken up, you can take a huge bong rip because it is smooth, and then you can sit back and enjoy that while contemplating whether to take another. Tyler/Mr Trees at Family Tree seeds has a good one. I smoked a few others of his and all have been great plants. His Skunkwater x Pandemic was another nasty one that went fast. The Pam Anderson was just "good smoke" but not my cup of tea.

Been a bit for an update with nothing really happening. It happened tonight in a big jumble. I harvested theDank Sinatra because it was beautiful and done. I harvested one of then Lime1 x Jaro becauseit has been close to done for days and finally popped a little nanner. And I chopped the Wedding Cake x Pina freebie because she went full chiquita under the top. She was the only disapointment because she had a few weeks left to be done. The others are fine.

Here's the Dank Sinatra. Sweet little plant with a sour/meaty yummy smell. She was tiny but had enough node spacing to make it sork.
IMG_6795.JPG
She had a few amber, but finally got the bulk of the trichs milky
IMG_6776.JPG
When almost every trich is opaque, it is ripe enough for me.

The Lime1 that lived looks to go another week or three, all the chops were at 8.5 weeks.
IMG_6780.JPG
She'd getting a chunky look to it and has a milder smell for now, leaning lime-ish so probably Jaro influence.
IMG_6781.JPG
IMG_6784.JPG
The chopped one was shorter and had one solitary limb at the bottom. Then a beanpole and fat frostiness all the way down.
IMG_6797.JPG
The top was starting to florette and I have been scoping it everywhere.
IMG_6799.JPG
Near the bottom I found one nanner set at the base of that upper nug
IMG_6808.JPG
This one smells very strong andd like fresh chopped cilantro.
IMG_6807.JPG
But here's a neat trick I was finally able to show in a pic. Lots of times the blurry pics or blurry parts of the pic are easier to 'read' as far as clear and amber. You can see the scattered ambers, and the really sparkly ones are the clear ones. Almost everything is in the other category - which is opaque and ripe.

Here's the remainder. The second Lime1 is here with the Notsodog x TK. Both just beautiful. They may get company on a shelf if I need the space but nothing else is tall.
IMG_6813.JPG
The smaller tent has 6 shoved in, the Durban Poison in the back is a maroon/burgundy color and just starting to have brown pistils.
IMG_6809.JPG
I got the two fems potted but still no sexy bits on the Pink Champs crosses. I have room now to flip the Grape Lime x 1st Crown testers but that's for tomorrow.

For what it's worth, the little Dank Sinatra was just over 100g wet but there's no stem to speak of so that's an ounce dry.

The Lime1 cross was 160 and it just had the single stem. no clue as to the final but it'll be over two, and that cilantro smell might be exactly what cures out into a lime smell in the end. These tow more than make up for the other one being sketch.

The Wedding Cake x Pina HP freebie from SungrownMidz wasn't near done - just about half the pistils were brown and no thought of checking trichs yet - but the terps are there. It's like a clean and fresh smell. Like a sweet weed scented dryer sheet. She topped the scales at 175g but lots of tree among the flowers. Probaly yield a lot less because she hadn't plumped up yet. lots of shrinkage in the future.

I have no hope for the WCxP being any kind of good smoke, but as loud as it is and it being almost 9 weeks, there's meds there. Might press well and keep the terps but concentrate whatever effects might be there.

But this is why I grow lots. If I get stuff that doesn't meet weed snob standards it is what it is. I have plenty that does and since almost everything I grow goes to term still healthy it's all about the genetics. I give two shits what it looks like, it's all about effect. And it all gets the dry and cure to see. Here's the odd bit. All three are loud, but the closet smells like the Wedding Cake that wasn't done  🤷‍♂️

Flipped the 7 Grape Lime testers, still no sex on the three Pink Champs.
IMG_6821.JPG
The whorled one hit a dead end up top. It had a side shoot from the node, then no top, it was like two siamese twin leaves and a sprout. I topped it and under the three mini-shoots it has 6 decent limbs. If it ends up female I'll probably prune it to three tops.

Fruit Jam by 707, which is The Betsy crossed with his Kush Cleaner male.

Ol’ Betsy is a highly sought-after hybrid that is deeply rooted in the cannabis community’s history. Its San Diego Sativa genetics are well-known for producing incredibly frosty and dense buds that offer a powerful, cerebral high. The strain’s tropical fruit flavors are complimented by its pungent skunky dankness, which creates an alluring aroma that fills the room. With a relatively short flowering time of 7-9 weeks indoors and an early to mid-October harvest time outdoors, Betsy is a fantastic choice for growers looking for a high-yielding, easy-to-grow plant with a strong genetic stability. Whether you’re a seasoned grower or just starting, Ol’ Betsy is a strain that you won’t want to miss out on.

But this reproduction where he worked the line a few generations and made selections to refine the line is $200, while this cross is $50 for the same number of beans. A lot cheaper to find out if it is even in the ballpark of what I like to smoke. From the one 8 week plant I got just over an ounce with no topping or training. Dense but spongy, in a good way.
IMG_6823.JPG
It has the frost he spoke of and the cerebral high thing is also there, after only a few weeks from harvest. I was getting ready for bed then hit a bowl of this topped with some of her kief - and you get fresh photo's and a post  It smelled exactly like a mixed fruit jam or jelly at harvest, so I like that I can dig how he named it when it's Betsy and Kush. Not an obvious pick. After a few weeks its got more of a butterscotch smell that is delicious. But at some point it had exactly what was advertised, then in my opinion cried out better. I think it'll get even better and it's not like I am only smoking it and it'll be gone in a week. But it may go downhill from here and be best fresh. If you don't smoke it early you never know. It's also a good baseline for comparison.

Just to clarify this - I know it's a cross. But this is a specific male he uses that is basically a blank slate. He has reversed it, had it tested (along with others while he was selecting the right male) and so far everything in the "Kush Cleaner Experience" has been wildly different, and I believe represent the mom in all respects unless the male adds some potency or structure or something.

He also stated that he tested all his crosses, and if there was a line that leaned more towards the dad he would just not release that strain. There are also a few like the GMO cross (Bees Knees) where he says the dad pheno will pop but only some of the time, and there's a wide pheno variation in that line to hunt through. I grew two of those and got two different plants - as advertized, and both are still stellar.

So here's a pic for comparison to what you have in the jar weight-wise for the main top, and the under-nugs that were integrally a part of it. For the size I think this is a medium density. That p-touch label is because I have another scale exactly the same except that it goes from 0.1 to 3000g for heavier stuff.
IMG_6827.JPG
I have my most recent seed order showing up today and will commence with a regular drop of 12 beans, but I don't know what yet. I am expecting a another pack of testers from Freeborn but we'll see. The drop of 4 fems didn't do well, and only the 707 freebie made it. Since the others cracked and didn't I assume she's tough and stuck her in here with the Deep Chunk. They are under the fan so they only get rebound wind. The chunksters are actually ready for new pots, and the ones not under the shade were a little taller so it got gone.

IMG_6848.JPG
The description on the HPK x Jaro sounded very similar to the smoke I got from the kush x headband fems he did. This was to justify the Freeborrn freebies ;)

I have the Macchiato cross testers getting wet in a few hours (there were 7 of each) and I am knocking out the Cocacola Rootbeer crosses from Blackbird two at a time. I have the Pineapple OG cross, the White Widow cross, and the Chocolate Thai cross That made 13, so it already needs the bigger dome, so I added a CLHP that I won't let dry out like the last two. I think that'll be it for this drop but they ain't wet yet. This will make 3 drops that I have had Top Dawg gear to try that is still in sealed packs. Damn!

Not sure what to think about the Notsodog Headband a.k.a. LA Pure Kush crosses. In this closet is the Notso x Triangle Kush (front right). Beautiful plant and if I remember right this is looking pretty TK-ish. That's the odd looking Pink Champagne cross that hasn't shown sex yet in the 1g. The Bubba Kush fallen soldier mystery plant from CSI is bagk right on the shelf and I think has a good home. I don't think it's getting any taller
IMG_6850.JPG
In this tent is the Notso x Chemdog. (back right)
IMG_6858.JPG
This jurassic looking bitch looks like it has nothing to do with the one in the closet. Dog leaner I guess. I chopped some lower limbs off but since it's a Chem91 cross I left every fan leaf - she may need them if the uppers start cannibalizing themselves.
IMG_6863.JPG
In here I have the Notso x ChemD plant but it just got up-potted and has no real personality yet. Those are the 7 Grape Lime testers that just got flipped in the 1g's. Both my Pink Champagne regular looking plants popped a pistil tonight and got more dirt. Guess which ones LOL
IMG_6856.JPG
These are the Baguettes (Aficianado) crosses. The Spyrock Special Hashplant is on the right, the two Croquembouche are middle and left. The lefthand one is about 2 weeks behind. Super frosty and gassy smelling on both the shiny ones.

I already sent an e-mail about this one. Is there such a thing as explosive germination?
IMG_6867.JPG
I got these in dirt fast, quick and in a hurry because it looked like the others were wanting to do it too. I got that one gently positioned on top of the soil in the right direction, then gently covered it a bit and tapped it down. I gave her a few spritzes and a little dome of her own to keep the rH up.
IMG_6869.JPG
The CLHP and the Blackbird beans all sank and a few had tails.

I did up a few more of those canna-gar cigars. They are kind of a pain in the ass to pack, but I think it might be worth it. Easiest way I have found to get the perfect wrap is the use a fine-mister and spray water in a silicone mat, then lay out the paper in the water. Barely enough to wet the entire thing but not make it decompose. Put the log on the edge and use the mat to help get it started, then a quick roll and it's done. And it still has the handy skewer to poke into something while it dries. Might be a cool way to keep a long term sample of some of the good shit.

I have a few leaves of the tobacco I grew and have had curing since spring. I just stuck them in a cardboard box and forgot about them. I just checked and they are actually still pliable and not crumbly. Might have to figure that out for a few. No glue though. I'm not sure if the tobacco leaf would stay on it once dry. 🤷‍♂️

Then there's the big-ass fan leaves I have on several of the jurassic plants. Homemade hemp wraps? Oh HELL YEAH I have to dig into how to make those
