I agree 100%. Someone on Reddit today made a comment saying that their state (NY) made it legal because of stories like those of Charlotte Figi and how much it helps those who need it. I told them they were delusional if they think the states are legalizing it for anything more than tax revenue.

O you know they'll get there money for that. But at the same time there's 2 hydro shops around me and both have offered "there" seeds but then when I ask to simple question about lineage I get goofy answer😂 so I guess what I'm trying to say is go for it till they come knocking...but hey it legal right?

Every state will certainly see it/approach it differently.....especially on the cultivation side. Just cus it's "legal" doesn't mean yer gonna be able to grow/buy seeds/etc. freely (for a few reasons).

I'm sure there are some dispensaries in state here in CO selling seeds...and maybe clones as well....but up here in the hills it isn't commonplace. Used to be....early on in the game....that you could buy clones on the Medical side but there's this little thing about setting >you< up with seed stock or clones and losing your very profitable business in the process that doesn't fly real well with the current business model of retail sales. They wanna sell you product. They wanna make profit. You growing doesn't further that end.

But yeah...for sure...if you are selling these items here you are a dispensary and you have paid to lie i.n bed with the State....or you are doing it illegally like the online seed sellers are doing. Even if it is somehow legal to peddle seeds..... if you are licensed that is....sending them in the mail continues to be a full on Federal offense. Not that they seem to be looking.....but it's like the gun with yer grow thing. The lkaws are there on the books...nothing changed in that regard...so IF it goes bad...it's gonna go very bad. Again though...it doesn't seem like these folks are on the radar....yet There are bigger fish to fry here and seed sales here are a very minute part of the equation....but never say never. If too many toes get stepped on...folks will feel it coming up their ass in a big way. The dispensary folks would love it if there was no home growing...seed sales...or anything else that eats into their game. The State is the same way now.

It's all a weird fuckin deal all around...and those who say "it's ONLY because of the tax dollars" are right on in their take.

Just figure upfront that you will be pushed out of the equation across the board and you ill be getting close to the result "legalization" is gonna bring.

Ok so if I. Can’t go legal for whatever reason, my next question is does anybody know of anyone ever being arrested for selling seeds. Through mail or out of knock knock spot?

@High kev ..... I'm sure there have been "incidents" where shit went awry 'cus "Shit happens".....but I honestly only remember one bust concerning seeds...prolly 15-20 years ago. They were already watching the folks for a suspected hash oil lab...and the seed send was the probable cause for them to get the warrant and bust down the door. Couldn't find the article. Too many clowns getting busted for manufacturing oil and lots of stories on that...but nothing specifically mentioning seeds...nor could I find the article for that particular incident.

My guess is that the real threat for being a seed maker would be your plant count. Takes a few plants to really do it right/at a retail scale.....and most guys are speeding and at risk in that light moreso than sales/etc......but if they put 2 + w together and yer doing both....and have associations....those Conspiracy to Manufacture charges (not going away cus it's now "legal") can be rough and carry serious time. "Legal" means no sales....at least here in CO. Seed sales will net you the same charges as selling bud....and worse cus of the tax gig.

And very few folks will grow/want seeds. Most are gonna head to the shop with the cheapest prices and best selection....and if they let em sell seed...yer out once again. Not gonna go to jail for personal here though......and if you have personal...you don't need to worry much about the boys in the money game. It's easier now than ever.....and most didn't jump on the wagon until it was "safe".... so no sympathies here...LOL.

So I’m hearing for New York a license to grow and sell to despenseries is about 200000 dollars down for an application. If your not excepted you loose 10000. Think it’s not set in stone but that’s what they’re leaning towards idk. I’m wondering what the pluses and minuses of having this license. If you do get this license? Can you grow as much as you want? Is there limits? Is there limits on what to charge dispensaries?

Yup, all these states make it so only the big corporations can get into the game. It’s a giant scam. There’s no reason (other than extortion) why home growers shouldn’t be able to sell to dispensaries as long as the flower is tested and passes the same requirements as their flower.
