I said this at RIU. How come they all complain about hermies, but can't answer why I've had zero nanners off 5 plants? I still consider myself a Grade "B-" grower. I even stress tested them a little bit on the first 4 seeds with zero instability. I wonder if their hermie pics at RIU there are from their plants or just the internet?
I recently posted one of the Banana Orange Daiquiri plants I have that threw stamens out of the buds and it started a shit storm over there. I wasn't doing it to stir up shit, I posted it because I was wondering if plucking them would be too risky for the other 3 plants I have going right now. I can't speak for the others, but I didn't just toss up some random picture from the internet to stir up shit. I know it happens from stress, and from genetics, but I have no way of telling what caused them in my particular grow. It is the first time I've ever had a female throw stamens, though, and she threw them on every cola. I wound up plucking them all off and haven't been able to find anymore since then.

There is a small handful of haters that linger over there waiting on anything negative to join in. Last a day than goes away till next time.
If you have early balls in the joints usually can pull them off and they wont come back. Plant could be confused from not being sexually mature before light change. Or sudden light cycle change. Sometimes can be low light issue under the canopy that causes them. Ive seen guys over there say they had herms in regular seeds they misraken for fems or they get there seeds mixed up. Who knows.

The plant didn't have any balls at all. It was just "nanners" and they were only on the tip of every cola (no other buds had them further down). Each one had a little cluster, but none of them had produced any pollen yet, so I figured I'd try removing them and just check on the plant daily to see if any more grow. This is how the colas looked on that one plant. This was the only one that did it, though. BTW, these BOD plants smell amazing already.

Too much Nitrogen can trigger a plant to throw "balls" in veg.
Like you said earlier, just pick them off and normally they don't come back.

Surprised those white buckets dont give you problems...
I drill out the bottom of the buckets
With a uni bit making 1/2- 3/4 holes
Then to stop any soil from draining
Out I cut a large square piece of cotton batting and place it on the bottom the edges run up the sides of the bucket. The roots embed into the batting and don’t root wrap so far.

Next time, I’d recommend you eliminate the cotton batting. I think your pots will hold too much moisture and decrease the amount of oxygen available to the roots.

I use plastic pots. I just think that blocking the holes from being free draining is a bad idea. Very little dirt comes out leaving the holes open.
I use a layer of rocks to promote drainage. It makes em heavier. But uts all I had in a pinch. I am ALL OUT! Right now. I got several spots going amd a day job and family. I dont get time to stop at the store for stuff . I just made the second half of a brick of coco I had as an emergency for times like these.
Im doing the math in my head last night about how much I'm gonna need for the next set. Stardawg x lemon tree. Almost ready for flip but I may put em in early. My timing is a little off. So I started some autos to make me feel better. 0620200803.jpg
Just a little too tall to put outside in a tote. They peek out at the neighbors. Haha. Sneaky sneaky.
