Everett, MA just made it a fine-able offense to not wear a mask in public, even outside when social distancing. $300 ticket for anyone caught not wearing a mask outside. Is it me, or are some of these places using this as a money making thing? I would think even a $50 ticket would get the point across, but these places that are fining people $300-$500 makes me feel like they are doing this more for the money than anything else.

If an Led is is not 100% efficient where does the rest of the energy go? Heat. Efficiency drops when you run them hard. The hotter they get the more the efficiency goes down. Your better off having more Leds and running them softer. Thats my take anyway. Mostly bro science. Oh and even running electrons down a piece of wire you lose energy. Its a loss system all the way from the dino bones to your buds LOL

This is what I was getting at. Even some of the energy in the form of light will also be lost to heat. I wish I had the room and money to setup two insulated 4x4x4 cubes to compare the overall heat generated by a 500W LED setup and a 500W MH setup over 24 hours and compare the results.

I think it will be the same. Energy can't be destroyed so it would all have to eventually be lost to heat unless I completely misunderstand the law of conservation of energy.

A $50 ticket is nothing more than a slap of the hand, a $500 ticket gets results.
It's more than a slap of the hand when people are out of work and close to 15% of the city population are at the poverty level.
