@Big Perm that HLG 300L Rspec is sweet. I have the DIY 260W QB V2 Rspec kit and it performed well the one grow I used it for in a 2 x 4’. In retrospect I really wished I went with the XL kit simply to spread the light source to better suit the edges of a 2 x 4’ tent.

Also not sure I’d pay the extra $100 for the pro build + dimmer knob with inferior heat sink.

This may be a dumb question, but anyhoo-
If someone ordered a couple HLG fixtures from one of these well known companies and they came with the V1 or V2 boards, but the only thing written on the qb boards is ‘SAMSUNG’, are they legit HLG products?
Reason I’m asking is the fixtures I got only say SAMSUNG. But when I order boards direct from HLG they’ve got writing all over them-

If they were ordered from legit HLG companies, then they come with Quantum Boards, and they will say everything that is in the picture you posted.
If it doesn't say that, it's not an HLG board and they won't honor someone else's warranty for boards that aren't theirs.

The older one I got was anodized. I agree.
I think they really don't use a whole lot of cooling. If they did there would be some sort of heat transfer material in between. We'd be seeing extruded heat plates, and we aren't, so it must not be that big of a deal.

@TerpyTyrone again I meant no offense. It wasn't my opinion about the hot spot, I've dabbled in par and some builds, myself. I've learned a lot about these led's we use.

Pretty sure that's how new boards are. I always order direct so you dont deal with issues. Samsung started making the boards for hlg a bit back.

They were advised as an HLG product, even came with HLG stickers.
Im not sure they are true hlg boards.. I thought the qb288's are a max of 3000ma and your pic of board shows 3400ma? Plus on ur board it shows the v1 and the type of diodes used (2835).
Which is what hlg uses on there v1's..
Besides the board saying 3400ma max the rest seems legit. Maybe they are new v1's being made?
I can be wrong but regardless of the company who made them, i think they shud perform quite well. Alot of the knock off quantums are very similar to hlg boards.
But thats just my opinions tho.
