Don't get confused. The Quantum boards are still LED's. Just better light. Not sure about the COBs and light bars, but they all appear to be LED based. The Mars and Viparspectra are blurples. Still good lights that grow weed, but they have that signature blue-purple (blurple) hue to them.

If you have to divide the "watts" in the model number by a factor of "reality" then steer clear.

"Superlight300
We have one hundred 3w bulbs so it's a 300w light"

(your results will vary)
I'm not going to sell you a light. I can help by telling you what I have bought and sits in a drawer until I start tomatoes with them... Try one of the other options.
Cool beans. And I just realized my do is supposed to be a due but my phone never stops auto correcting incorrectly. And I'm all good for recommendations. Just a 1 income household and I've already spent a ton so I'm trying to stay in a limit because i can't afford much more for a bit. So I appreciate you taking the time.

An HLG135 is relatively inexpensive, dimmable, and will flower a 3x3 space. They have a 160w board (HLG160), then it moves up to lights with multiple boards. When I shopped them way back, the 160w was more expensive for the wattage you got than the next bigger model with 2 of the smaller boards.

So I transplanted my white widow to a 1 gallon fabric pot tonight. I kind of let them get a bit too dry and they were not at all happy with me. Got all of them some water and plan to transplant the rest in a couple of days. Did a bit of defoliation for my plants. They are so fucking bushy. It is insane. Little bit less so now though. Any dead leaves or leaves touching soil had to go. So quite a bit went. Gonna do a bit more training with them once I transplant. Also finally got my timer set. I really suck with those things. Going to 18-6. New tent coming on Saturday at least. Pics are through my glasses for led lights.

Looking good.

What kind of training did you have planned?
So I want to experiment a bit with manifolding an at least 1, maybe 2 of them. Then just some LST to keep the growth even and promote more colas. I'm hoping for 6-8 on each plant. So if the branches that will become colas get higher than any others I tie them down with some garden twine. I've topped so they are coming up in pairs. I have 1 that looks like it has about 10 colas. The rest are between 4 and 6 right now. So I'm considering topping a couple of them again. I'm still trying to figure out what is going to work for me and my space

Cool. Hope that works out for you.

In my experience, any training is better than no training, so I think you'll see a positive return. Maybe down the road you can mess around with trellis netting and using that for training. It's a bit of work, but you can achieve an incredible canopy.

Another great option is super cropping, and what id call mini cropping, it definitely produces noticeable differences in nug size for sure, I've done it a lot on my girls since I started, good reads on it over on growweedeasy, and ilgm, the mini cropping is something I tried out on my own I just pinch the branch till I feel it crunch a bit then move on to the next, it makes a little knuckle at that spot and what's above it takes Off.

Hey Seed, I was skimming through, checking out the white widow. I received them from Seedsman as a freebie, as well.

You started throwing three bladed leaf? Any singles?
I think you may be correct. That timer was F'n with your game.
I see you are shopping for lights. And a new tent? Remember light intensity is diminished as it becomes divided over a larger area,,,units per square foot.
Just blast those things.
Light drives photosynthesis. ⬅ (period)

Less light is less buds.
Potent, premium, tasty, smooth, best of your life, grew-it-my-self weed,,,surely.
But; everyone I know is sad, when their hand hits the bottom of the jar. Law of scarcity, and we want more herb!
Buying flowers is like paying rent,,it's just gone.
Mortgage a light, feed the need.
Blow that shit up !
You got this!

How many of the branches can you safely do that to at a given time? I've read quite a bit on GWE but I'll check out ILGM too. You feel that strengthens the branch and promotes growth?

My husband and I love your bunny by the way. When i read your journal I kept poking him and showing him the bunny. How large is he? Looks about the size of my cat and he is 25lbs.

Yeah, some singles are in there too. I thought maybe I had don't something wrong. She went straight into fox farm after her solo cup transplant so I thought that maybe it was too much for her. I trimmed her up last night and as of this morning she is looking great. She bounced back from being underwatered no problem. Did you have any sensitivity issues with your WW? She seems to be affected by everything.

I am. I'm too new to know much about which lights are best but i know enough to know what I have isn't good enough. Especially since I've went a bit grow mad and planted a bit much for what i had set up. I think the tent will help with the temps and keeping those controlled. Plus it is a much more easily controlled environment. My closet is okay but a tent would be better.
Law of scarcity, and we want more herb!
I know this all too well.
You got this
Thanks! Most of my current grow in flower is due to the help i have received from the people here.

Got some pics with just my flash this morning. Seems as if the water is doing its job. They're all back bushy again today and standing at attention.

The White Widow has really came back and now covers the top of her 1 gallon. I think I'll be putting her in the flower tent in about a week.

They get their first dark period for 6 hours today at 2. Maybe I'll start getting some more lateral growth now.20200119_063910.jpg

I've done the full sqweeze and bend on whatever gets to tall, and I've done my gentler version to all the branches on a whole plant, over the course of 2 days, they really don't skip a beat as long as they are healthy and happy when you do it, and it's no way as harsh as whacking on em with scissors

They're pretty happy as long as I don't let them get as dry as i did. My veg room gets a bit warm. 82 is still in the range but still. Thanks by the way. I've got 8 plants. I'll try it on at least 1 of them.

that's the same technique I use to slow down the top buds and allow for side branches to catch up. Just stalls em for a day and they heal up with a swelled up spot.

This QB is growing massive fat colas. The C99 is directly under it and i am quite impressed with how they perform. But you have to trim all the lower stuff out of there and they will fatten up.

Amazing performance for 180 bucks with delivery in right to my door.
[/QUOTE Talk to Turp about one of His lights, You wont regret it, I am going to buy an 2nd and in Summer a 3rd. Fantastic and built like a 1955 Buick, Plants are doing really well, must have a 4 ft tent tho to run em. Need to get one down to Jesse this year too.

It is hard to price shop, when unable to make exact comparisons.
LED manufacturers lie. Plain and simple.
Your current led x2 is supposedly 600w?

This is all under a 400w MH. 5x5 room makes for 16 watts per square foot.

You are 5 square feet. With 600w , would be 120 w per sq foot.
I have 13 % of your illumination ?

I am not posting these photos for the purpose of wagging my junk around. I was going through your journal and watching the dates go by and the plants not blowing up.
I want you to do well, and I want to see that place full of bud.
Everybody eats their sandwich the same way. I am not doing anything differently than you are. I pour the water in the top, I say a little prayer and I see what happens,,, just like everybody else.
Many of us here are gardening for economy (and our own sanity ) the jars full at the end of the day certainly help.
I am not going to bash LED there is however a lot of misconceptions about them. HID light produces 98% heat and 2% light an LED is 30% better with only 70% going to heat. LEDs do not run cooler- they are simply achieving a lower temperature given less wattage.

Weed is hella exspensive, surely. Our houseold can go through an ounce a week , as well. That costs most folks between two or three Hundred bucks. Yet my electric only costs me 11.5 cent per kw- delivered.
I can run that light 24-7 for cheap
Capture+_2020-01-19-17-01-01.png
Here is the kicker. I bought four of those fixtures last week for $20. 4 bulbs 4 reflectors 4 ballast and 4 power cords - five bucks a unit.
My photos were taken less than a month apart.
Equipment and electricity grand total $35.
Depending on the price of your electricity you could run that light constantly for a year for less than $400
The way I see it: good luck finding a web link to an LED that will give you that kind of coverage for less than $400 -600. It would take a full year to pay for the unit,(price differential between units) and the electric savings are less than 100 per year.

I understand that this is entirely unsolicited; but, it is my attempt at Anonymous tough love. Support is nice, although, would you rather a 'supportive' shoulder to cry on, after a 30 gram harvest? or the kinda support that lights fire under your ass and gets you half a pound ?

Blow it up !
