Fire went out Oct 26th or so with the first 12" snowfall. For snow removal.....

This is Donald. Donald is orange and blows hard. :ROFLMAO:

And we have 2 of these...one a "Man Plow"....the other...a "Wo Man Plow"

And one of these for the roof....

We get long periods of sunny weather on the whole....temps now are 30 for a high and tonight....we may go below zero. I have the woodstoves crankin' and things are pretty much toasty warm.

Yup...I'm weed powered. I get fucked up and attack. We're always glad to see moisture here. This snow will water my weed next Summer...all summer. Ying/Yang. The cyclical rotation of it all.... :ROFLMAO:

I’ve got a snowblower. It’s really good for taking up space in my garage. Never used it. Old 70’s snapper with a new Honda engine.

Use this thing to throw my gravel where it doesn’t belong. Year before I put the plow on it we had a bunch of snow. 1000’ drive at home as well as other properties, my ass was tired of the shovel. Not had more than 4” since 🤣

Woot. Cab and all. Nice.

I bought a Kawi Mule FXR in 2018 with full intentions of riggin it for a plow. Don't have 1000 ft....maybe 125 and a decent sized parking area....and weighed the costs...both to rig it up and the toll it would likely take on the machine itself ....and decided to just buy a big blower and go that route while I'm still truckin' upright and can physically do the job. My Mule sits all winter. LOL. All of what I do here..by hand......keeps me young(er). And as @BigBallzWillie said... the snowblower works better to direct the snow and get it out of the way. This thing throws it 50 ft if you want that. I blew things out yesterday but just pushed the last 3" out with the Man Plow this AM. Took me about 2 hours. That's about the max I can do by hand w/o it being a pain in the ass....literally. Those hand plows push a lot of snow but you can't lift it worth a fuck to toss it.

Hit bloom tonight. Took the 6 late-to-the-Party ladies out and stuck them back under the t-5's. Will give em a week or so and then drop them into the mix. Just weren't quite big enough for my tastes to put into flower. Hopefully I'm not sorry. Used the new pH pen/TDS pen......brought back a few memories....not all good. :ROFLMAO: Anybody used a Bluelab soil pH pen? That might be a really valuable tool in my veggie garden....not to mention the weed garden. We've been lazy gardeners on that front.

I use my Mule for firewood and to keep my ass from behind the wheelbarrow....and to cruise the 'hood/go to the Post Office/etc. We trailer up and get out there every-so-often but I keep starting projects and spending too much time on that shit to make it happen as often as I should.

I'll just tell you that I had a helluva lot more plow than that. Got rid of both. My driveway is long and steep..your goin down on the way out. A good turn in it too. If you have three decent snowfalls, the plow spoil can only go right and that builds up. The 3rd storm it's got nowhere to go. What it does is pile up like a iceberg in front of the plow .....stopping my f350 with an 8' Fischer with sno foil....cold. Dead in it's tracks, sno so high you could not see out the windsheild. It's ok, the 480 case cleaned it right up. The other problem I had with the plow, was goin down and turning left at the same time, the truck would dogtrack and the drivers rear tire would be smashing the fresh plow cut and packing it down....the only remedy was a shovel, fuck that. I bought me a snow blower and that snow goes where I want it, All said and done, takes no longer comes out much better. Bought the first one about '92 now on my second, will buy another if I have to. I still have a 4wd truck. I don't own a plow, lol. But the backhoe is still behind the shed just in case.

Oh I am certain if I lived in a climate with larger snowfalls the plow would get sold for a blower. It works around here where we get 4-8" snows and they melt a few days later. Id be screwed if I was near a ski resort. Every machine has its place.

I have been interested in that soil PH pen too, I asked this same question about a year ago elsewhere, never got a good answer other than the suggestion that a slurry would be more accurate. Kinda makes sense but would like to know more. Keep us posted if you learn more.

All this snow talk...Brrr....

The wife didn't flinch when I mentioned acquiring a soil pH pen....so I'll likely be shopping for one soon. I've done the slurry thing...lotsa variables there, IMO. Kinda/sorta clues you in if something is wayyyy whack...but not a solid reading to bank on, IMO.

LOL re "snow". Every area has it's pros and cons. It's not a biggie here anymore because neither of us have to go out in it/go to work/etc. It does guarantee that I'll be moving some snow around....but all I gotta do if it starts wearing on me is stop and look around.

I will be interested to hear your results with that soil pen. I tried the slurry thing a couple times & found it varied too much for me. That said I grew for so many years before any of these useful digital tools were available that I seldom remember to use my Blue Lab unless making clones.

I get it with living in the snow, commuting in it is no fun but neither are SoCal freeways. Learn to play the hand you are dealt I suppose.

I fired up the indoor tent yesterday, following you indoors.

Happy New Years!

I think we'll benefit greatly from a soil pen......not only with the jah...but in the GH and the Summer garden as well. I've replaced a buncha native soil out there with old weed grow medium...but have never adjusted water pH or tracked shit. We just let it fly. Will be interesting to see if going uber-anal on all of it makes a difference.

LOL.....that grow jones got ya, huh? Good on ya. I know yer like me in that it's a full circle from startin out with the love/desire to be self sufficient...then that blew the fuck up into a money game...and now....game over and we're back to doin all of it cus we love it. A buncha guys I know never made the last trasnsition and just gave up. "seperate the wheat....from the chaff...". Yup.

Seeing the S-t-r-e-t-c-h start here. Gonna be some nice plants in there....can't believe how FAT a few of the stems already are in plants less than a foot tall. Gonna stick the 2nd wave in there tonight or tomorrow.

Went with an old nute i haven't used since i had my shop 15+ years ago. Biobizz. Not sure of GH still owns 'em or not...I had my shop when they bought em out and it seemed like the formua got watered down. (IMO> This stuff is pretty thick so maybe they wised up or GH stepped out and stopped fuckin things up...LOL. The grow formula....in combo with Mykos...seems to do em incredibly well. I'm also offering em a micro nute package so they have some good legs to start bud formation. I've always done this but this time the nutes might actually get absorbed cus i'm in the zone with pH...for sure...for the first time in years...LOL. Fuckin old people....

Kinda funny, my wife announced that the last 2 months was the first time this century that I did not have any plants going somewhere. Dang. She was right. Just love the grow, don't need the smoke that is for sure.

My tent is tiny, Just a 2 x 4 so not growing a lot. I will veg more than I can flower & throw a few outdoors at flip to see what happens. Days are short, they flip to flower right away. Never know what the weather will be. Most years I would have a winter outdoor crop besides, just for fun.

I am pretty happy with my recycled soil mix, after all these years not sure a ph pen would change my mind. I learned my methods the old fashioned way, fried the shit out of them many times. Always something new to learn tho, I will be interested in your findings.

These LED's are cool and all but I'm missing the heat from the HID.....and so are the plants.

Gonna have to add in an hps in or yank these fuckers out and go back to the old gig completely. Everybody is kinda curly and they just don't look all that happy. Not sure it's worth upsetting the balance/going against what I already know works well to save a few $$ on electricity.

C'mon Summer........ fuckin A.

IMO saving money on the power bill is not a logical argument for led. You might be able to save 10%, but, the way the grow room operates needs to be set for led in the first place, cant just do direct swap, light for light. Seems you are at the point you could add a 300W heater and be back to square 1.

Don't tell me you're getting low on smoke....(grin)_

It's not like I can't afford the electricity @SSGrower ...I just don't see the need to use more than needed.... if at all possible. But it is all money goin out in the end these days....and nope....not low on smoke.....this is just something to do to pass the time and grow more product to give away. LOL.

And it's not a room...it's a tent from China. LOL. I can't really see how it's possible to set a space up for lights you've never owned and have no real idea how they will perform/affect the space.....but now I know and will adjust as needed. FWIW...I've never used a heater or A/C in any grow. I just drop or add lights or change bloom cycles from night to day

Pretty easy to do a direct swap. Just change the lights back to hps and maybe use these as side light a few hours a day. :ROFLMAO: Once it warms up a bit I can add em back in as primary lights. Either way...I personally think it shows well (as does outdoor growing here @ altitude) that weed can take cool/cold temps 12 hours a day but not 24 hours a day.

I knew you’d likely miss the heat from the hps in your garage. I’d throw one hps back in there with the LEDs on the side. Then just turn off the fan at night to trap some heat. With your dry winters rH shouldn’t be an issue without the fans going.

Will take some time to get it dialed in/figured out...but if you decide to part ways with them, let me know. I don’t use them for reduced electricity, but because they run cooler, save me head room, don’t have that orange glow and look sweet...

@Jesselikes2Grow will be able to dial ya in with those LEDs if you two have time during your projects.

That's likely where I'll go first. I still have the 600 digi ballasts mounted on the wall. Just need to decide if it's placed in a reflector or just hung bare lamped/vert. I've always exhausted (pushing) through the reflectors and out and humidity has never been an issue....but even with a fan on a cycle timer with these LED's there's condensation on the walls of the tent. Not gonna work for me for bloom. Don;t wanna deal with bud rot or PM.
