Yeah ive used miracle grow too. It holds high nitrogen n falls short on k in flower.(running 30 day veg on photoperiods 3-5 gal fabric )
But thats almost anything limited by a container for roots. Smaller container quicker its depleted.
But yup adding new soil it will feed the plant so i would just water with phed water. If ph is off it will stop availabilty of certain nutrients no matter what the roots are sitting in.

Ph is the main thing to be sure of
( in my opinion.)
I make sure my ph is right on all inputs and water/feed like a flood each time
( once the roots are established) keeping the ph in my medium what i feed it or close. Multiple exchanges.

I go by pot weight to water. Im used to the weight. Its easy to get used to. And a very reliable way to know what your plants are taking.
Before they have solid roots yes i water sparingly.prob first 2 weeks or so But once roots are circling n set up theyll take flood n drain in smaller pots.
I would find perelite and cut your soil with it. It will make sure plenty of air gets to roots and will allow better drainage. Miracle grow perelite is ok. Numbers are traces in it. Thats at home depot or lowes. Idk if youre in the states. But usually perelite is expensive online for some reason. Like $5 for mg perelite at depot. Enough for small mix.

I've read a lot on here about it not being good for pot. I'm just concerned about the seeds I'm about to pot being burned by the FFOF soil. So i ordered rapid rooters but the person sending me seeds to try hates them so I'm going to pop those in a paper towel. So I've gotta make a mix for the ocean forest to be a bit less potent on the babies. So I have to get some perlite and an inert soil to mix with the ocean forest to tone it down a bit.
Mg will grow monster plants. Mainly i just needed bloom booster (high p and k not just p )and little calmag in flower
With a 2week water only at the end it did not leave any off tastes or burn dirty.

@Rooted I have a few garden centers near me I'm going to try and call to see what they have. I think I may eventually switch to a coco blend. For now i just want to get to harvest and start my new seeds without killing anything. I am in the states though.

FFOF isn't going to hurt any plalnts that have filled a solo cup or a peat pellet. If you want to plant a seed right into a final pot of FFOF. Just scoop out a handful of the FFoF and replace with a seed starter mix, put the seed in that. You could also make a solo cup impression into the center of your FFOF and then just put what comes out of your cup into that impression. Aside from seed starting, I wouldn't worry to much about the FFOF burning.

Mix peat, perlite and worm castings for your starter mix.

A few people have recommended That exact mix so I'm going to try and hunt down the stuff for it. I figure a plant that is a couple weeks in will be fine in a hot fertilizer. Just not a seedling. It is why i picked the rapid rooters. I figured it would give them time to develop a decent root system before dipping their roots in the nutes.

Yup premier peat moss a block is usually like $11. Castings like $6 both at home depot or lowes too and perelite. Walmart dont got nothing cause of the season. But thats a no heat starter mix.
Then personally Id take n mix everything left with your ff soil (assuming you got a 2+cu ft bag of ff soil ) and use that to transplant into once they start moving. Youre going to be adding feeds anyways as they grow

Not for me! I've never had or try to have a 20% run off in soil/fabric pots. Pro mix...I want to see some runoff, but in FFOF not,
I rarely get run off either. Maybe a half a cup or so if I do. Maybe my plants would do better with run off, it’s just such a mess. I should note that I’m growing in used Super Soil (second grow in the same soil).

To all of my helpful and wonderful chuckers: Defoliation. There are a couple of spots on the plant that i believe are bud sites that could use more light. Maybe 5 leaves would do it. I put in a side light(for some reason it says the picture is too large to upload) to help but i don't think it is enough. Do you all think it is a good idea to defoliate?

Update number I can't remember and don't feel like doing math: Plants definitely doing well. Still nice and happy. Soil is wet and yet it still has a separation from the pot. Not to fear however, I will have them in fabric pots tomorrow. Still not sure about the little one however. No sign of sex at all and it is tripping me out. Could it be a hermie that is asexual? Is that even a thing? Also got a pic of what I believe to be a budding bud site with my loop.

Personally, I would leave them be for now. Maybe reconsider around the third week of flower. Just let the plant be a plant for now.

You'll have better luck with a hydro-store if you can find one. They are like looking through the "weed" section on Amazon :)

Look at the "flip" part of someone's grow, about a week or so into it. Every junction at the stem where a leaf comes out will make a sprout. If you flip right when this happens, that sprout will turn into a flower.

If you keep vegging, that sprout will grow and produce it's own nodes and leaves (and flower sites) and grow just like the top is. The top of each of these sprouts will eventually be your flowers.

IMHO defoliation for no reason is boredom. I have plants almost ready to harvest that have some of their first leaves still growing. Some of the upper leaves were pruned away because they were shading other parts of the plant. For the most part - leave the leaves.

Conversely - more sprouts means more, smaller flowers. Pruning away sprouts early that you know you don't want to keep helps the keeper parts of the plant get more goodies for themselves.

I like fewer/fatter flowers. I don't get any more weight than if I grew a flat canopy of buds from the same plant, but I have little larf, and minimal time in trim-jail. Knowing what I want in the end makes it easier to know what I want to prune - like a bonsai tree. For my style, I continuously prune away lower shoots as the plant grows and I train it. Once a sprout shows its own nodes starting, it's gone. I do this until after I flip and see the first pistils, then prune nothing else.

Whats the hieght on the light too? Looks little high. Its not a hps. Usually i run blurples 18inches in flower n buds get closer without burning. I would not have it more than 24 inches off your tops right now.
You really dont have anything blocked to defol right now. Another thing you could do is take your tops n tie them down some and out. That will allow light to everything. Itll all lift up towards the light in a day.

I look at the mfg. recommended height. If they don't state it, look at the heights (usually 2) on the par-map. Veg, bloom :)

Yeah usually they say the distances. I usually start at 24"-30" n bring closer as needed. But inside 24 is where they really get light. But footprint is no good usually that close. All got to be right under it.
Like you said i would see if theres a mfg reccomendation for height n try close to that. But it looks 3+ft up

I just looked up the info on the first blurple I bought, and it seems they put out better info now.
