RDWC GROWER
Hey armdog... I bought this manifold which has a 3/8 inlet valve. The al-40 has a 5/8 inch OD. How did you reduce that?
put a straight fitting in a 1/2" hose , stuffed it in the black rubber 90 and put a clamp on it.

Here are HB bucket set up in 2”
Still waiting on the cch2O 5.5 netpots
Then the lids go on.
It would be a tall order of achievement to be able to run RDWC without a chiller!
Roots are such a protected system.
almost finished the mobile bucket
Grow rack for using HB RDWC
Layout. Dolly base @32” footprint
My knees and shoulders are pretty gone. This mobile set up just like my 4x8 NFT table moves it all on rollers.
Now I can manage all around the grow space by myself here are some pics
Still need to add 2 braces up top across each side, then mount the hlg 550 v2 r .
Those are (4) 2x8x10 for the dolly base
Oh yes the little table offering for
Maha Lakshmi Stuthi 🌺😊🌱🔥🌺

On the uv water sterilizer for you that are in the know. Run full time or when needed?
I have read on and off shortens the bulb life.
I want to know if that’s correct what your saying cause I was going to let my water off when not in use. If not I’m willing to follow proper so I don’t fuck up obviously

I also bought a 12 GPH UV and installling it to a filter (KDF85).

I also have heard/seen as a tip never let that that uv turn off after installing (24/7) so if powe goes out ( have a upc backup on it ) and always change bulb and make sure to meter your water and change your filters and uv properly

Ya I'm not positive. And I'm just treating the water I'm using not recirculating. I'm going with leaving it on till I hear otherwise.

I'll let you guys know if I have any issues from shutting it off if not running water

I’m on my 2th year with my 1gph for my 2000 gallon per day r/o
And I have been “ running as shutting it off if not running water”

I haven’t seen any negative % or effects but does not mean shit, wish growonix wasn’t being lazy and didn’t tell me I shouldn’t have be doing that......

What you say @SCJedi? You seem to be on top of uv water sterilizers.
Run for a full time or on off every day? So my uv is sitting there lit up with water in it with no flow 99% of the time, feels pretty warm. I also read the quartz doesn't like to be hot with uv shining on it. The quartz deteriorates faster . Shut off or leave on that's the million dollar question LOL

So how can you tell if it is still making UV?

I wish there was a way to turn it on at flow only but you have to leave it on all of the time so when new flow happens the water gets sterilized. Yes, typically quartz sleeves and bulbs both need replacing. I would suggest going with the manufacturers recommendation on replacement intervals.

Thanks For the reply Jedi.
I make RO into a 45g storage tank. I have the uv on the outlet of the storage tank so it only sees flow when I'm topping up or doing a res change witch is every day. Not really worried about the power usage, more life of the bulb. Which I read is 1 year.
Maybe I should run a return back to the 45 so some natural convection can circulate the water and keep it cooler. I'll put a lazer thermometer on it this morning to see how hot it gets.
Other stuff I have read is the newer digital igniters are not near as hard on the bulb during start and stop. I'm guessing most of the uv on domestic water sit most of the day with no flow so it should be designed for it?
