Good idea
Now I won't have to wear a dust mask when I switch from drying to curing containers. lol
Remember I dry till the stems snap. I like for the resin heads to be on the "gritty side" when all is done.
Mold is easy to grow in your storing jar or plastic container after a month or two.
It's disappointing to crack the lid and you get a whiff of that "skunky mold" smell.
Hell, those are fuel filters for the check valves.
I don’t take any chances with mold. If I see brown in the middle of a cola I toss the whole cola. Then, once everything is cured, it gets divided into mason jars with a 62%RH Integra Boost pack in every jar. I’ve been able to keep bud in good shape for more than a year doing this. I just had some Dynoberry Bites last night that I harvested in June of 2021 and it still tasted amazing. It wasn’t as good as when I first harvested it, obviously, but that fruity cereal smell and flavor was still there and it still got me plenty baked.

Got about 3 Oz off the frozen custard. Threw away prob 4 or 5 Oz. Great looking bud and smell and sticky. Can't smell that good but this one has a strong fuel smell.

Purple Larry I planted hoping for bigger yields. Was disappointed in that. Prob 4 Oz harvested threw away maybe 1/4 Oz. Dense nugs and couldn't really smell anything off it. 16962671683755872357494890149890.jpg

I grew Frozen Custard over the winter and everyone loves it. It gums the shit out of grinders, though, because it's so sticky.

That's a bummer, man. Nothing is worse than mold setting in at the tail end of a grow. I've already spotted a couple of moldy buds on my outdoor grow, but the buds aren't looking like anything special to me anyways, so I'm probably going to just toss those two plants.
That's one of the big problems with outdoor grows and location. Bugs and humidity will tear ya new ass lol I always expect mold growing outdoors. I bought a greenhouse thinking it would solve the problem but it hasn't. It keeps the rain off but the humidity is still a killer. Doesn't matter how many fans you got going. When the humidity approaches 99% every night those spores are going to ruin your work.

I can attest to it looking the part. Just by yield, smell, looks and feel the frozen custard is better than the purple Larry but it is suspectable more so to getting bud rot. Think I'm going to start some inside and finish a 2x4 test tent over the winter of it.
