The uniformity on those red zone plants is striking. I can't wait to see the flower tent(I'm guessing they are females) you put them in come another 8 or so weeks H.A.F.
I am keeping as many girls as I can but if I have to cull I am keeping all the outliers first. I dropped every bean just because these are testers. I have too many half packs of testers. Any fire that makes the cut I'll buy a pack of to hang on to.

I can squeeze 6 in that closet in 5g so I know I can keep at least that many. I have some quicker flowering strains in the tents now, some may be done by the time these show. But I need to get the closet back to veg so those 6 are probably all I can hang on to, then shift them to the tents as I can.

Next drop is next new moon (1/3) so the cycle continues.

You know I have never paid attention to the moon phases at all growing in dwc but after seeing much better growers than myself like you and NoWastedSpace make mention of it I think I might drop some beans for this new moon just for the halibut to see if they act any different. Now comes the hard part though, which strain do I pick. :ROFLMAO:

Oh, is there any particular MO to correctly popping beans for the new moon?

I wanted to have a 4 week cycle and that is much closer than following a calendar and dropping on the 1st every month.

Going back to fewer plants each drop though, so I can keep them in the tiny tent if I have to up-pot to 1g before I have room for 5g's to veg elsewhere.

Thanks to your manifold technique I think I am actually going to be able to comfortably fit 4 plants in a 3 X 3. Harlets & Hashplants will be the test run for this theory and if all goes well my drops for 2022 will be +1 going forward. That is really going to help my ability to see a few more strains every year and not to mention I really like how Budderton's Lemon Slush X Baboon Wine looks sporting it, 4 gorgeous show colas that all pretty much look like mains! Thanks again for sharing H.A.F. (y)

I have fermented aloe as well. Didn't put any in since I had the fresh leaves, but I toss in a few ml/gl every once in a while.

I think one thing that scares people away from organics is that it's random. You have to read the plants more, you don't have a feeding schedule telling you to add a half a cup of this and a tablespoon of that on day 6 of week 4 of flower.

Listening to all these podcasts I am getting nuggets of info to piece together for my grow. There was a guy that was against compost teas and his argument was sound. So far so good.

Avocado tech - now transferred to my worm bin and not the plants.

I heard that kelp and alfalfa are great during veg but a hindrance during flower. I stopped adding them to the topdressings and when mixing soil, and I'll use them in teas during veg instead.

I just flipped the contest plants and wanted to give them a good boost instead of just RO so that is the main reason for todays mixture of "can't hurt" stuff. But since I am doing it everything gets some. I'll soak the babies, then thin it out as much as I need to to have enough water for the rest of the plants.
I have heard this about alfalfa. Not the kelp though.... Good to know

I hear bad things about flipping at 4 weeks, then I hear people running 12/12 from seed. I have been 'short-flipping' almost every seed plant I've grown and I always end up with what you see in the flower tents. Nice 2-3' tall plants with anywhere from 1-3 oz. Even the small ones that's enough to taste the strain and see if you want more and how often. If I veg 6-8 weeks then end up with 4-5 ounces of a plant thats *meh* that makes me sad.

I think the only time I will veg longer is when doing a manifold because that takes an extra week. Here's my theory for what it's worth now that I am a weed snob.

I have about 6 jars on hand of strains that I could smoke all day every day and be happy. That is a great variety to have so as long as I get one or two plants from each run that are up to the same standards as I run out of one I have another.

As long as I keep pulling fire that fucks me up, I don't need to drop another Chemdog or CLHP unless I want to. But when I get to that point those are the ones I'll manifold, or run multiple girls of.

As long as I can keep a buffer of the dank I can keep running lots of strains to find those handfull I want to dedicate some extra time to. Or I just keep dropping like I am now if the jars stay stocked.

I have several more jars, but the stuff I hang onto now has got to at least be a tasty "daytime" smoke.

I hash more now than I did since that helps out a lot of mediocre flower, but decarb and edibles is also an option.

Lemon Slush X Baboon Wine with her sexy 4 tops is finally starting to open up on day 18 of flower.(Back Left) BCL(Middle Right) has already opened up and looking like she is about to BURST into flower on only day 10. I think you are absolute right about clones being dialed into the system their mom came from H.A.F. (y) Harlet(Front Left) is actually looking like she is about to show any day now and she is on day 9 of flower.

For the love of GOD please don't waster your time watching Matrix 4...
Keanu Reeves made a lot of good movies. That he signed on for this is very suspicious.
Two and a half hours later you realize it was just a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad attempt at figuring out why people liked the first movie.

Tripping on shrooms might be the ticket - it might be what the director was on when he thought it was a good idea for a film.

Man.... It took me 4 times to make it through resurrections and WOW. The first 15-20 mins were kinda cool but then it got poopy. REAL POOPY.
It felt to me like a college filmmaker got a big budget and was told to remake a lot of scenes from the 1st Matrix and then throw in some new ones but make trinity "the one" in the end now. Easily the worst one in the series imho and at best a thumbs sideways for me.

I enjoyed most of it but I'm getting tired of being force fed "the female hero" from Hollywood in every single movie and show over the last 2 years.

So do you feel like it really makes a shit H.A.F. other than a good scheduling tool for perpetual growing?
I have heard that flipping early is a stressor. I have seen early nanners on plants with and without flipping early, but I have seen beautiful small plants with no problems the majority of the time. I think getting early male pre-flowers on a girl are the main issue people attribute to flipping early.

I think it all comes down to genetics and some strains traditionally are prone to herming.
Sometimes I think it is recessive and might only show when a certain pheno pops that resembles that herm-prone great grandma.
Sometimes I think the herm trait is a piggy-back trait that comes with so other trait. Like Chemdog being herm-prone. If you breed away from that herm trait you'll probably lose what makes the Chemdog top shelf.

In general I am happy with the plants and get a good enough representation of the strain to make future decisions about the next girl I get.

If I was running one strain exclusively I could dial it in to keep the rotation perfect, but then I only have one strain.

Different flowering times and the ability (finally) to let plant finish without killing them means it's always a guess.

What I have settled on is shooting for 6 plants, since that is what I can keep in my veg area if I flip it to flower. Dropping regs if I get more than 50% girls I can deal with it. I can always skip a drop if it gets too crowded.

But the last drop I got one plant that's an 11-week Thai. gonna be a gap somewhere/when...

What I am going to try for a bit (since therre's no testers for a few drops) is three fems and 6 regs (2ea from 3 cultivars).
The fems this run will be Member Berry Bx1, Grandpa's Stash R2 from Ethos & Romulan x C99 from Duke Diamonds Vault

The regs will be 2 each Rock Island Rocket F1 from @J.James, Road Dog - a multi-chem cross from Lucky Dog, and The Cream from Irie Genetics.

The Cream was a knee-jerk purchase. A 5-pack from Irie for $28. The Prana I have going smells delicious and is supposed to be dick-in-the-dirt stuff.
I just decided to drop regs in pairs - It shows up and there's 7 in the 5-pack. Two extra was too much Karma for me to pass up.

Fuck Yerp... I think I am gonna try poping 4 beans. Couple of regs of DET—PDX's F GMO X M Funeral Cake and F Kings Juice X M Rainbow Belts. Then 1 of Katsu's new Fussy Pussy Platinum GSC X Platinum Kush and then a Dosi Do bag seed from my local Bud shop.
Your little bag seed girl has inspired me. (y)
