How to you make cal mag? That shit is expensive to buy in the stores.
I make a calmag/sweet recipe found on riu. Been using it a few rounds with the megacrop and having fine results. Basically its 1 tbs blackstrap molasses and 6 tbs epsom salts to gallon of water. Blackstrap has some calcium in it. First time used it just in flowering, worked well, this time Ive went to using it all the way thru as Im basically flowering from seed. Works well also, lol. jme

Where do ypu get blackstrap molasses from? Allbof the stores around here only have regular molasses. I used to use that as an additive before i started using megacrop

Be sure to look in baking supplies, unless you are in the south not too many people use it on pancakes.

Also in the baking isle you will find calcium chloride aka pickle crisp.

I prefer to feed cal and mg seperate, im in soil and I hand water. Cal phos via WCaP made with eggshells and vinegar.

I have a foot planted firmly in each camp organic and synthetic.

I thought the blackstrap was specifically unsulphered, that's why all the organic folk over there use it in their compost tea's

Edit........the high sulphur content in some molasses is due to the specific way in which that molasses is processed, un-sulphered or blackstrap is produced differently, just wanted to clarify;)

that's why blackstrap is better than the rest. They will all work, but the blackstrap is just the best for the job. My wal mart don't carry it anymore, maybe the amish or specialty stores do, why I get it online and powdered. You mix it to the blackstrap strength powdered and it lasts longer, etc. I don't like molasses to eat, my granny and gramps used to, Im out on it, lol. for eatin. Plants love it mixed right. Unsulphured is what you want

My plants seem to be mag whores. Even with the updated mega crop formula I add 2 tbps per gal of that Epsom salt/molasses mix that bodyne posted. I also give them a shot of some liquid calcium from NFTG every 3 weeks or so, or I start seeing brown spots from Cal def.

Doesn't bother me too much, as the price, and ease of use balance it out. Coming from mixing 6 bottles that change amounts of everything throughout the grow, it's much easier even with a couple things added.

It doesn't hurt that i haven't actually had to buy any yet with the samples they have given away.

Im gonna try their cal mag . I dont know if that is a powder or liquid. So far everything i got from them has been a powder except for their version of gravity

Just ordered the 300g sample bag. It was only 3$ and some change for shipping so that’s sweet. Guess I’ll see what the hype is about. As stated earlier in this thread it’s cheaper than any bottle and the one part I think I can dig. I’ll update once here and get some use in.

Magnesium sulfate for the mag (epsom salts without aroma preferably :D)
Calcium depends on if you are soil/coco hydro. I know for soil you amend it with dolomite lime or crushed egg shells but beyond that i get a bottle and it lasts for a long time.

I am running 1 res with 25mg of Megacrop per 5 gallons of water in veg. 3 of 4 plants love it. the 4th plant is showing nitrogin deficiencies. If it keeps up i will transplant to a hand water pot so i can adjust just the 1.

The other 3 love it at that strength.

My water was at 50ppm when i started. I added 25mg per 5 gallons and my tds is 1030. What is the highest TDS you run with MC?

My only other additive is 10mg in the entire rez once a week of UC rootzone to help prevent salt buildup in the system.

I'm guessing you mean grams not milligrams?
