My germination rate is awful so I did some excavation and found some empty seeds open but full of little white worms. I checked my Jiffy Seed Starting Mix and it had the same little white worms. Fuck.

More seeds are soaking and I have to pick up more seed sprouting mix. Hopefully this will be the only drama for season five.

Kinda, they were tiny. I couldn't capture it with my phone but there were a few open seed husks with a dozen of them inside. Barely visible.

I use the black gold seed starter and amazon ships it to me. I quit buying bags of medium from the store where it's sitting around on the pallet in the rain and sun. Most of the amazon stuff ships from the supplier direct. Amazon doesn't have a dirt warehouse. So you get it in better shape than from the hardware store. Also comes in cardboard boxes to keep the in-transit buggies out when it overnights somewhere.

FWIW I would spread it out on a tarp and let it dry. Then sift it back into a tub or tote. See what's in there since you don't need the chunky bits.

You don't need anything in starter mix for seeds, inert is best. Their little coty's have all the nutes they need.
