Thanks man. Those 3590's rock.
...for sure dude. If I wouldn't have started with them I'd probably be rockin QB's by now. I learned how to do the DLI calculations on this type of fixture and it makes it hard for me to let go and move up to the Samsung diode. I plan on buying at least one more lighting fixture (6x CXB 300w kit) and upgrading the drivers and heat sinks for 600w, then I'll start saving for some QB's. I've learned a bit about their workings over the last few years and I'm a bargain hunter so I'll probably end up building my own. It's gotten super easy now that almost everything is solder free modular anymore, and I build computers so I kinda understand how the heat dissipation is set up. I'd love to build a liquid cooled system like Jesse. That dude is a straight up mad scientist.

This is my build for the lettuce competition.

I like to use 5 gallon buckets when building this stuff. I had a lot left over from RDWC. I also like to use these concrete mixing tubs. I rummaged through all of my crap and put this thing together. It's a flood and drain. I didn't have as much hydroton as I thought I did, so I used a touch of perlite. If this will keep perlite out, hydroton will be no problem.
It takes 56 seconds to fill and overflow. At overflow it holds 5 gallons. It then takes 5:54 to drain completely. So I have some messing around to do with timers. I'm thinking of starting with 2 on 20 off.
The bottom has about 8 gallons in it. I made it so that res changes would be a breeze. I fill at the main drain.
