How should I scrog these? First time.

the bigger the plant the more your going to yield. yield is also very strain dependent. genetics play a big role here. Lights and environment, along with the nutes your using and how much your using all play a role in final yield in my opinion.

the 5g will get you a nice sized plant. check out my grow journal and take a look at how big mine are and their in 3g pots. actually think there a little less at like 2.7g

nice lights btw :)

what are the major mistakes new scroggets make? Just curious.

I’ve LST and supper cropped with no problems before. I’ve already been lolilipopping and have cut all fan leafs from soil to 1/3 length of plant. Are you talking about feeding through scrogg?

I have a par meter as well. I want to feed all through so colas don’t compete for light.
Flipping to early....not enough room to move around...flipping to late....too many plants....just to name a few

The training part is self explanatory. If you’ve LST’d, then you have the credentials to scrog without issue. My advice, when you’re ready to go 12/12, put the scrog about 6”-10” above the canopy and let them stretch up into it, training once they hit the net. You got this mayne ;)

they look good! :)

scrogging with leds 101:

We want as much light getting to the middle and lower shelfs as possible leds are notoriously bad at penetration. to combat this I remove enough leafs so that light still penetrates into the lower canopy to the lower budsites

-1 week before flower -lollipop them. pick a spot toward the lower shelf and cut all the leafs and branches below this line.

-then start lightly defoliating each day or each time you feed them. you dont wanna take to much at once and stress the plant as it goes into flowering. i look for small budsites that wont ever get enough light...usually nodes 5 -down on the main branches, Then ill look for the leafs that point toward the middle of the plant and those that block light from budsites and cut them. i try to finish defoliating just as the stretch is finishing

-@ the 2nd or 3rd week of flower i start removing the rest of the bigger fan leafs. When i look down on the canopy i shoot for little holes here in there where you can see the floor. again most of this stuff is covered in my journal chuckersparadise.com/threads/the_artisans_guild.1648/

-if your just starting out its better to go light on the defoliation in my opinion. you want more leafs on the plant in case theres a problem down the road it can buy you some time to correct it. Once you get it down, you could cut more

Plan on letting them veg another 10 days. Let the scrog fill out. Might too that very top one sticking through... not sure
