How should I scrog these? First time.

The 3 big ones are all black Rasberry and the 3 others strawberry cough. Should I put the 3 black Rasberry all through this 5x5 scrogg? Or just take the biggest on right and repot in 25 gallon and scrog alone? The 3 little ones are going to a new light, but is 3 too much for 5x5 scrogg? The 3 black Rasberry have all been topped. It’s the one on back right and two on left.

No offense...I would just run them and get the feel for the plants much better. There's alot that can go wrong if you arent sure what to do.

you want to top all the plants a couple times. do them all at the same time.except for maybe the smaller ones. this should give you a good shot at having an even canopy.

if your plants arnt around the same height the smaller ones can get lost after the scrog goes up. the purpose of it is to evenly fill out the canopy with as many budsites as possible and getting as much direct light to those budsites as possible. also scrog will help support your plants once their heavy into flowering.

some strains dont need support while others do.

i dont put my scrog up until the week i send them into flower. sometimes the plants will grow to big and youll need to add a 2nd layer of net. As they start to grow try to weave them into the netting separating the top bud sites from each other

well I already have one grow under my belt without scrog, but my buddy who is a long time grower was getting 3x my yield with scrog and recommended it. Something might go wrong? Isn’t that how you learn is through experience?

I agree...but a major mistake could also massively hurt your harvest. Also...your buddies yields have NOTHING to do with scrog. Environment, lighting and genetics are what determine a yield. If you are going to scrog though....watch some videos, have your buddy maybe help if he can. I would get them on now to start training them horizontally though.

25 gallons indoors seems too big. You'd need a really long veg to make that 25gal worth your while methinks. 3 plants isn't too many for a 5x5, 5x5 is a pretty big space. I scrogged for years, it's a good way to spread out fewer plants and train them into an even canopy. It's also a good way to support heavy tops.

Right now you have 3 plants at one height, and 3 at another. So unless you plan on whacking back the 3 big ones, I'd say skip the scrog this time. OR if you have another grow area scrog 3 of the same height.

Live and learn bro. I went with Scrog early and had success but since have switched to a bit smaller plants and stakes for support. The long veg in my flower tent was the decider for me but everyone is different. You have everything ready and stuff so I say go for it. Prop up the smaller ones to match and fill the screen Have fun!

If you are going to scrog though....watch some videos, have your buddy maybe help if he can. I would get them on now to start training them horizontally though.

Topping is what really does it. For me anyway bc I don’t lst. You could have 2 identical plants. The one that’s topped will produce more most of the time. Genetics play a big part in it tho

Oh and pot size plays a big role to. I use to use 5g fabrics but switched to reg 3g pots. Plants in a bigger pot will usually grow to be the biggest. Again depending on genetics

Depends on the grower honestly. If you go for that big of a pot you’d want to veg longer and run into the issue of stealing light from other as that one spreads out. Nets are hard to use and deal with unless you already have the nice canopy really. I see it being a lot easier to just stake it because like @Hust17 said It is a lot easier being able to turn it and clean it up if you have more then one tent you could also cut tops a decent amount for clones and let others catch up and have a win win. More plants and even canopies. I like the fabric pots but as a last upsize in your grow because it’s quite brutal on the roots for transplants. Had a bunch of mine in 3 gallon fabric and literally had to pull the plant out and heard roots ripping off. Best of luck!

see for me anytime i havnt used the scrog its ended badly. i have everything on rotation now so the nets stationary. when the veg plants get moved into the flowering tent their usually at the perfect height coming right up to the bottom of the net. i wait and top mine a little late to achieve this.

ive had a plant break in half bc it started weighing to much and couldnt support itself any longer. then your messing with stakes and shit. basically anything thats in my flowering tent is being scroged

and your right usually theyll need a little more time in veg but i will say the plants in the 5g were bigger than the plants grown in 3g in same time frame, using the same clone, and grown in the same setup. my 5g plant was bigger but took up more room. me personally id rather have 4 to 6 plants flowering at a time and with the 5g it can make things a little tighter than i like. i use vegbloom to for nutes so the fabrics started clogging with the salts which thru my ph off. i went to 3g plastic pots and never looked back. more plants and less overhead with a small reduction in yield depending. sometimes being able to fit those xtra 2 plants will mean you will yeild more overall. 6 plants in 3g could yield more than 4 plants in 5g. just depends on genetics, growing conditions, and training.

I feel thrilled and unworthy but my buddy basically gave me his growing stuff. He’s back to professional gaming and doesn’t have the time. I did one grow at his house where I shadowed. Then did my first grow (snow lotus) last spring and now this. I’m going to go with these 3 taller plants in the first picture with 5x5. They are all female. The others I prolly won’t scrog.

the others are weak. I had my ac go down and temps were mid 90’s for a few days. I also started on 12/12 from start (greedy me need personal fast!) but then switched back to 18/6 after 5 days. This stunted the growth.

I also got these two tents. Going to use one for new seedlings and try a perpetual grow eventually.

I plan on topping the tallest of the 3 one more time.
I’ve also been watching vids. Hope it goes well. They go into scrog this week.

right now all plants are in 5 gallons. Is that big enough to get a decent yield?

what are the major mistakes new scroggets make? Just curious.

I’ve LST and supper cropped with no problems before. I’ve already been lolilipopping and have cut all fan leafs from soil to 1/3 length of plant. Are you talking about feeding through scrogg?

I have a par meter as well. I want to feed all through so colas don’t compete for light.
