Nah you know what you're doing. Just putting out my experience with it, I veg for a lot shorter time so within the time frame I'm running from start to finish it can hurt more than help if I take off too much. With anything YMMV.

At your final trim, how big is the root mass, then how big is it at time of harvest? How long do you veg?

It takes up two gallons of volume, if that makes sense at the time of harvest. If I didn't trim it would take up most of the bucket if not all. I veg for 6-8 weeks in hydro, sometimes longer. I only do one root trimming per run on a plant, when is just a matter of how I feel. Still tryna pin point the best time to do it. Another run I'm going to test root trimming on some e basterds one I'm gonna do multiple small amount instead if one big one and see if it's any better. I'm truly a one and done guy.

. I also feel if you stress them just right you can get a better terpene expression, actually what I should say is a different expression. Better is too subjective.

Seriously though. Can anyone help identify this fuck. He was supposed to be a Mac clone. He didn't Hermie. He's all boy lol. He looks a lil Mac but I'm overthinking it and second guessing the fuck out myself to the point I need y'all help lol. It could be a Jabba's Stash x MAC1 but I don't remember taking clones of any of them unless the one I thought was female was male...idk honestly it's killing me
any help would be appreciated. @Rosinallday you my friend would be my best bet at helping pin point this. You have more experience with the Mac and her crosses. Very interesting. I can see where timing and trim approach could play a role in the effect. The stress-terpenes expression thing I can see as being plausible. It's kinda like a peach tree. In the wind, some branches could scratch up some fruit; the tree is somewhat stressed and sending more resources to repair the area. Exactly brother. Being able to actually pin point a time where I get the right amount of stress to possibly exploit better expressions would be pretty fuckin awesome imo or even break out traits not normally seen in a healthy unstressed version.

North Dakota Sweet Version. Three days. I'm tryna figure out why the old roots brown out. It's not rot. I think they die. There's no smell and it doesn't effect new growth. I'm pretty sure the roots always brown but I only recently started paying attention. Jenny did the same thing. No problems tho.

Never had roots pop out here. Then again I usually cut off the growth. It's literally coming out that waterlogged sprout. Very suspect. I don't trust the roots at all
One of the clones I let go a while. Curled it's roots around the base and filled it in. Nice new growth for a day and a half
@Seed of Memory this is my boys first grow. He got clones and shit from other roommate. He's not taking an interest like you. He'd be happy with am eighth each. I told him to wait and be patient. He clearly couldn't help himself but who I am to tell him no lol.
oh and ofcourse my man dolemite hanging out in here lol

His babies are meh. It's just the cleanliness of the cup the care given to placement. Appropriate environment before you even begin growing. Idk the lil things. He just jumped in the pool knowing he can't swim and didn't even bother to fill the pool. He knows I'll hold his hand that's why lmao.

Some nutes can stain the roots. Molasses (a good amount in Megacrop), GH Flora Micro (maroon bottle). If you're running tap then it might be what your water is being treated with. Guy I knew when I was a kid used to live in a city with highly fluoridated municipal water. Stained his front teeth like a 30 year cig smoker, no reason why it couldn't stain roots either.
