What a morning.
After night shift taboot.
Wife calls say her car won't start and the water is froze. Fark.
-33c bitch cold out.
On top of that I knew I had to take care of my vent for my grow room.
I use an air to air exchanger and have 30' of insulated vent hose to vet through.
Goes through the attic of my shop to "the not so intrusive smell end".
It condenses water in the pipe so I have most of it sloped back to the room to the air to air and into a catch bucket. Would rather have that than a huge ice stelagmite outside.
Part drains out and does make some ice. Anywho I had a sag in the pipe and it filled enough to almost totally bloc off air flow. Room hot and himid.
Had to remove 1/2 of the vent pipe and warm it up inside to get the ice out and put it back up. Tape doesn't work very good at -33 LOL had a heat gun going so I could warm up the tape and what it's sticks to and fingers. Looks good now. Hoping no future blockages. I sure like the air to air. Nice fresh air coming in that has been warmed by the air going out. The inefficiency is a good thing I need a bit of cooling.

Wife's Block heater cord was broke. Rubber don't bend at -33. Put new end on it.

My well comes into my garage like 4" from the wall. The insulation was not very good on the out side foundation, so covered with some foil bubble and stacked a bunch of 1000lb grain sacks against the ground and side of building. Empty sacks like 6 of them. Held down with some weights. Yep red neck.
Got to Macgiver shit when your out of town. Heat gun down the hole where the line comes out thawed it. Shoved some heat tape down the hole to get though this cold snap.
More night shift tonight. Hopping for a quiet one.

Damn man that makes me cold reading this. I hate the cold. I am sure it is coming but we have had it pretty good so far this winter on the east coast USA. Sounds like a brutal winter storm .

same cold here , I had to take a dog to a back building 150 yards away and I think My anus froze shut .
Heathen knows what its like,it can get -50 even colder.I use to game online with an american clan. They never got over how cold it can get here.Seriously if you get stranded in the country and have to walk, you'd better be wearing extreme weather clothing.Every piece of flesh must be covered.People are few and far between,if you dont make it to the farm in the distance..they will find your body in the spring🥶

chopped 2 Omeurta's Elemental 115 and 1 Cherry Dulce Punch f2. All super short stout indica, but had to, run out of room, two weeks too early watchagonnado, had to transplant 3 Sequoia Cherry x California Cherries, I think, and 2 Ghost Cookies 95. Sacrifices.
Just a head's up...keep your eye on those Dusted Bud genetics. Grew 3...all hermed badly.

Had a cousin move to Canada from Ireland years back. It took a while to sink in that the weather can and will kill the unprepared. If you grew up in it, taking basic precautions is so ingrained you hardly even think about it. You plug in the vehicle, have a hit-the-ditch kit in the vehicle, always have a toque and hand coverings. Many of us have worked in -30. It's just life here, but it was weird seeing a first western Canadian winter through a Paddy's eye.

No storm tank god. If the wind isn’t blowing it’s not too bad. Even a little wind and it feels way worse. It’s just the arctic reaching down to slap us in the face.

So much for a quiet night. I work alone Got one level transmitter shitting the bed. Thank god there are 2 transmitters. So I have to watch the good one and make manual adjustments to the level control valve.

Stay warm and be safe, brother.

A friend of mine uses a 375 H&H for moose. Now that rifle kicks...but it does weigh more to help offset the inertia. He was smart enough to have a comp installed at the end (old dudes with big guns need to soften the blow).
Thats what she said !
My first 22 i got in my 20s...a ruger 10-22 and man those are great guns. Fill up 5 clips and go partridge hunting. Shoot the crap out of targets...its just too bad you cant reload em.

The 416 rigby..which is a proper elephant gun is a monster. I thought you knecked up 375 brass but its unique and from the cordite powder days of African Safari!

I just want to fire one...a side by side BOOM BOOM...i bet it would blow a tree down with a bear claw slug !

I used to make 35 Whelan out of 30-06 Military brass because it was so cheap to get them. And i had a 5 pound can of the right powder from a different rifle :D

In Alaska its a felony if You drive by someone broke down on the side of the road or walking in a remote location if the temp is lower than I think -25 , cant remember the temp but I remember that from my in processing at Ft Wainwright.
They have a similar law on the water. Maritime law you are exempt from being sued from any person or group that you come to the assistance of. If it were not set up like that nobody would come to your assistance when you need it. Don't remember about mandatory assistance but most boaters will stop if you wave them down.
