The great thing about getting the seeds right here on the forum is you can watch the grows and test grows to know absolootly that you have good genetics. You will get to the cloning soon enough kind of a natural progression.

Some of these breeders make a old timer such as myself nervous with the fem seeds. You will probably get some good plants from them. You just have to stay vigilant for herms. We can help with that thru pictures so don't sweat it. As a matter of fact @jacrispy is holding some seed auctions right now. I guarantee you there are some gems coming up. Average genetics is like driving a economy car . Top shelf genetics are like driving a nice cadillac lol

I'm noticing this myself. That the genetics make a difference. So would you recommend using regular seeds? I went with feminised seeds due to space constraints.

You can stay with fems. If they are untested you will have to watch them closely. Which you should do anyhow. Once you get more advanced you will be able to work with clones. Seed plants tend to be a little more stretchy and with clones you know for sure what the plant will be like.

Since seedsman is just a bulk distributor i imagine I'm going to get varying quality from each parent company.

Yes that is correct . Hopefully they are in sealed breeder packs. Even if they don't turn out great they will still be better than what you get in a dispensary.

Regs. For many reasons.
They aren't screwed with. You have a male plant and a female plant that made babies. No hormonal or mineral treatments to make fem seeds.

You will likely get half male and half female. It's a crapshoot and you could get all males or all females but the odds of that are out there. If you want to try your hand at making seeds you have the power.

You get variety within a seed-pack. If you have seeds that were crosses between different strains, you can get female flower that take after the mom, the dad, or random traits from both.

Knowing that some may not germinate and some may be male so you have to grow more plants at first, but you won't be taking all of them to flower. It's a little more work, but you can manage space with small pot sizes at first until you figure out what you are keeping. Space isn't really an issue unless you pop more females than you planned on, and don't have the heart to cull one.

Not at all sure of the genetics of those seeds. That's okay you need the practice and those will be fine for learning. Then when you start working with good quality genetics you will learn to recognize them as being so much better to work with.

I should have just kept reading. Lol. I would have seen where it said breeder. I'll see how they harvest and how I do taking care of them. Then I will look into seeds on here. I am watching quite a few of the breed and grow journals.

I think that is my problem. Even knowing that one may be a male I don't want to set it out to die. Crazy right? I will have to get past it though. Thanks for the info. I do plan on getting another tent and a few more lights thought. Just gonna be after Christmas.

If you want smoke - once you see a definite male you want it gone or you get seeds. Not hard. Culling a female is difficult - I make room

When I say "I make room", you can keep plants smaller with pruning, training, and smaller pots if needed.

The funny thing about keeping more plants smaller or culling one and having more room, you'll probably end up with about the same end weight (roughly) but for us beginners, it's better to have more shots at good plants than less.

Tis a good point. And i say shit like tis in December. I actually have more space in the tent than I thought. My husband built a stand to bring the plants a bit closer to the lights but if I pull it out I could fit a bit more.

Today's update. So my little plant is still not showing a sex that I can see but on one node area I think it is forming a little ball. At this rate I should be sure in a couple of days. My female is doing great. I've been watching disjointed and I'm wondering if because I talk to them they will start talking back in Korean. Lmao.

So my ordered seeds came in today. Gotta be honest, the packaging was surprising. I wasn't expecting what looked like a birth control pack. However, most of them look dark and viable. I've got Pyramid's Kryptonite. Royal queen seeds Skunk XL. Seedsman brand White OG and done freebie white Widow. However, I'm not popping them yet. @SCJedi is sending me some of his and I'm saving room to be able to start those immediately. I'm excited for those for sure. I read all 15 pages of that thread twice to try and see the growth patterns in some of the genetics. Now those are some beautiful plants.

Good choice. What @SCJedi is sending you i would be willing to bet would be a whole lot better than what you got from overseas. It is also a good example of the community here.

The only prop I'll give the overseas seeds is that the ones I ran (and am running) are BORINGLY consistent, and consistently excelaverage smoke

your leaves say youre having ph fluctuations n going to lock out. Your water or feed being phed every time? And how dry are you letting them get.?

I have some of his Nigerian Sunshine #4 Granny Skunk that are itchin' to get moist LOL

There are guys on here that have been featured in High Times I believe, and other geneticists that seem to have a knack for this stuff I think I'm almost as impressed seeing some of the stuff they toss out because it wasn't up to their standards, or wasn't the right trait they were looking for.
