I never really gave them any thought until recently. I had a couple small packs that I got as freebies just taking up space so I decided to run them. I had 2 og kush fems and 2 Amherst sour diesel fems. Last run I tossed in the 2 og and this run I included the other 2. The og was fire. #1 was purple and beautiful and a breeze to grow. She smelled like tropical laundry detergent and tasted the same. Not a knockout but potent enough.
The #2 was better than #1 but was a PITA all through veg. Just droopy no matter what. She popped a couple early balls but they didn’t come back and I’m really glad I didn’t kill her when I saw the balls. She just crushed it the rest of flower. Super frosty stinky pine sol nugs with a hint of soap in both smell and taste. Yielded better than #1 but neither yielded well. The smoke was fantastic tho.

This run I included the 2 Amherst sour diesel fem freebies. Both of them are pretty similar almost identical. Slow as fuck in veg but very easy to grow. Tight stackers with little space between nodes. Very bushy plants. Not a lot of stretch. They’re 5 weeks into flower and so far they are pretty frosty but lacking any diesel nose. Kinda fruity generic weed smell. I’m hoping that changes.

The sour blueberry x5 and blue dream x3 I ran of theirs wasn't that good but all 3 black dogs I did were quite nice. I even kept two and still have them in the stable. One is straight up blackberry smelling and tasting and the other is like raspberry metallic type flavor, I love them both honestly. The blackberry one is a little weaker potency wise but still a good stone.

Yea dude I saw you’ve been crushing the black dog for a while. Good find on that one. Out of the 4 plants I’ve grown from them, they were all good but none of them checked all the boxes for me. But they were freebies so I can’t complain.

I've had a few surprise great smokes from freebies over the years. The best has been a freebie critical jack herer from delicious seeds from the attitude. It was a great raspberry type candy flavor and it was one of the best anti depressant type highs I've ever had. I fucked up and threw the clones away before she really started budding out and I regret it to this day.

I tried growing 2 more critical jack freebies and even bought a 3 pack all trying to find a similar pheno but not even close. The other 5 I did were all jack here heavy phenos and I'm not a fan. It is that classic spicy harsh Jack herer same as the original from sensi seeds back in early 2000s.

Ahh damn that’s shitty. The one that got away lol. I have quite a few of those. But yea man I have found some great herb in freebies. Makes sense. I would wanna send out the fire in freebies just to get it out there.

That's when you just pack the tent beyond max and pray! Lol, there is never enough space to run all the stuff you want, just gotta chip away at the pile little by little.

Yeah, that’s no kidding, I just had electrical work done to add another tent, seeds haven’t even sprouted yet in the new one, still in rapid rooters, and I’m already wishing I had yet another.

Have their Fire OG F4 seeds. Hoping when I finally get to ramp up again I find a keeper. Have really liked the Fire OG I've smoked, most crosses with it too so im hopeful.
Grew their Blue Dream 4 or 5 years ago, best thing about it was the packaging.

Humboldt seed company is a US company.

I’ve actually never tried either, but I have heard the US one has much better genetics overall. I have seen some pretty good stuff come out of HSO, but from what I gather it’s hit or miss.

One of the better commercial growers in my area grows some PPD that reminds me a lot of Alaskan Thunderfuck with a berry undertone.
