Well buddy why the 4? Is cause ur plants in veg dont require as much watts as flower to b good. Less electricity, less wear n tear on lights, plus 4 boards put off a good amount of light to b sufficient enough in veg.

Or run all 8 in veg , turned down big time, and drop ur lights on top of plants. U wil save power and still b givn them plenty of light for veg.

In mid flower ive even ran those boards past their rated limits.. The v1's wood allow me to run them as high as 37.4 volts b4 they wood flicker.the v2's are more efficient barely but at 36.5 volts they flicker.
So id run them just under the flicker to get every watt i could pull out of em.

But ya i agree sucks starting over with no equipment.

Also only good thing that came from my loss was a led grow light company thats coming out with new rgb diodes quantums. They are helping me by sending me their biggest light the make a xb400 led 400w plug n play light thats either for a 3x3 or 4x4 flower space? I was truely thankful for them to send me a free light and all i gotta do is a journal to show it off. Alot of people have talked shit on this company ive read online, but they have went out of their way to help me out and for that id b happy to give there new light a try.. They are called HGL. They also started a new forum and are hosting gram per watt competition with prizes for top 3.. It starts oct 1 but just give the forum and contest a look. I wil b entering competition. i get my light from them next week.

Just google ledgrowforum.com if u wanna join another chat room with other growers. It just started other day so not many r there yet but gotta spread the word.. Thx u guys ✌

HGL LEDS ARE EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT THEY ARE .
When they brought out there Penetrator 336X-PRO 500 watt power draw,
it was over 2k in 2012
And still is about 2000$ 2019.?
They need to move with the times with there prices.

Nice for them to send you there lights to test thats good.

Innies- a dub cut, GMO, gg4, wedding dub in flood and drain 6 site, 6" net pots. One cut of a dub died so I took 3 more and 4 more MAC x aaw cuts.
I have 3 autos SLH, WW, and Purple Mazar.
The reg seeds were dream lotus and MAC crosses. The dream lotus has some beautiful stature and tight node spacing. Meanwhile the mac is the mac and looks to be what everyone said. Long tall scraggly with few bud sites. But we Will see.....
Week 5 veg on seeds, week 2 f and d system, week 2 autos, just took 7 more cuts.
I do this Journal not only for my peers, the people I test for, but this acts as a Journal to look back on cause shit I cant remember when I put those cuts in the rooters hahaha.

225ml every 3 days. silica is probably not necessary i like adding it because it beefs up stalks and water systems make them grow really fast and the stalks are not as robust as on a coco or soil plant. More like bamboo than a bat.

Its weird you have such dark water. My silica is like light blue water. But silica and calmag and MC come out a very pale yellow (the hydroton i got is the same as HydroReds bag and i rinsed it really well because i had that happen to an autopot system).
I think its just silt from the clay. As long as they are growing and the ppm are ok :D.
And next time use that cup thing. Cut the bottom out of the solo cup and shove it in the hydroton and then clear out the hole put in our plug deep enough to have the plant above hydroton and pull the cup up (and the pebbles will fall in around the plant keeping it up).
Another good idea i did this time (I read it recently) only half fill your container with hydroton when you plant it. Then as it grows up fill it up with new hydroton to better support it. I will give it a go and see.
What I noticed this time (i did it with a welchie) the roots hit the tray that day. It started a day or 2 quicker than the last time.

@gwheels got it. I add (at 3% H2o2) every 3 days. I dont personally use any silica additives. Your water looks dark from the clay pellets. You really gotta rinse em good before you use em.

Ya i agree with what HydroRed and Gwheels said. Silica isntva must with hydro, or whatever u grow in .. But i can say it does everything Gwheels said plus makes plants resilant during extemes growing conditions, like heat , critters, kinda boosts its immune system. I beleave its allows more nutrients uptake too. Plus it serves as ph up cause itll make ph rise.

Then silca for cloning too helps success rates. 5 simple indgredients mixed in cup or glass. To soak clone in b4 u make final cut and insert in your cloning dome of choice. Not all is required to clone cause theres alot solutions to clone on market, these are things that helps me clone or ive used threw the years..
1. Aloe gel
2. Organic cocnut water
3.silica
4. Willow tree branches
5. Superthrive

I know your question wasnt bout cloning , but i just was explaining the things i no bout silica and the uses ive seen it help the plant.
Itll make sum phat stems that will support the buds without needing any help.
Ive never seen silica turn solution a dark color tho. Usually like both other guys said, its kinda a blueish clear solution , that will crustify if lid isnt on tightly. Its not a must but ive seen first hand that it def helps plants if used right.
Like Gwheels & HydroRed said id bet its from the clay pebbles not being rinsed hardcore b4 hand, and not the silica is my guess and opinion.
Alltho ive grown 21yrs im not right or perfect just are info from my experiences. Im not know -it-all self proclaimed master gardner or grower..

Im glad to be a part of the groups online , alot of kool growers willing to help , and share with anything and anyways they can.. Thats not all but majority seem pretty kool...

Ya kind of pricey but if it holds up to what they claim the light can do, itl b money well spent imo.
I think with the way this companies lights targeting certain spectrums, & promotes photosynthesis a&b, sure got me wondering on whwt they can do.
And i agree im a bargin buyer normally, trying to get most bang for buck like many others, but with that said, if theres one part of growroom that u really dont wanna use the cheapest thing wood b the grow lights imo.
Everything else u can skimp by with, but not lights imo.
But i agree with ur opinion and respect it cause i live paycheck to paycheck myself with 3 people depending on me. But ya they have been great to deal with and have treated me like gold without spending a dime with them. And they got 120 day trial so if ur not happy after doing a grow using them u can send them back no questions asked full refund also..
