Yesterday I staarted out with the Notsodog Headband x Triangle Kush, today was the Chem 91 cross. The ChemD cross is the plant in the closet that is 3' tall with lots of chunky buds.

So far the first two are "keepers". For me that just means I ain't pressing it or decarbing it. But one fem bean from each pack producing fire is a great product endorsement.

The Chem91 cross is fluffy and airy - would probably wash great, but the same volume has half the weight. It would have been great 80's weed because the sandwich bags with the right weight would look FAT!

Compared to every other plant I have had going recently these three are/were the giants. The Notsodog Headband a.k.a. LA Pure Kush is a legit pollen donor.

Out of his fallen soldiers freebies, the Bubba x ??? is earthy with a very stoney buzz. Watch a movie - but you won't remember the plot. It'll still be cool. The Chem91 x ??? I'm pretty sure was an S1 from a Chem91 mom. No worries there. The Sweet 16 (Pinks and Purps) x ??? is a little bland. whatever the mom was had some dankness, but instead of complimenting the sweet it's like they cancelled each other out.

I have a few more fallen soldiers I haven't tried from Wedding Cake and Obama Kush pollen. But the thing with them is you only know half the mix. so every one in the pack is gonna be different. I'll wait on the rest of these until i can just dump the pack (4-5 left in each) and watch the variety.

I did some major deforestation tonight. The moon is new and one of the Pink Champs is done enough. The other will likely be done with the full moon in a few weeks but this one is perfect. Lots of milk everywhere. This is on a lower nug and the only pic that was woth a damn. She's hanging now. Lots of ambers mainly on the leaf edges lowers, but the upper flowers havethe sprinkled everywhere.
IMG_7480.JPG
Whatever the "1st Crown" was, it made nanners inside when done. I say made because one went yesterday, and the other three tonight, all with a random nanner here and there - but nothing infested with them. This is an example on the zombie hair top. Center frame and hard to see. The others had two or three all on upper flowers. Better to snag them before they explode, and this is the cross that had a 6-week-nanner that dried to a decent buzz and great smells. these should be fine. These went almost 9 weeks
IMG_7491.JPG
Back to the goods - the Macchiato x Jaro look great, and I had no problems with the Lime1 x Jaro so the dad might be more stable. All are getting their stretch on now and got moved to the 4x4 so I can clean out the other tent. On this batch I removed all lower limbs. They were nowhere near canopy height and destined to be larfy so I have 4 beanpoles
IMG_7492.JPG
The Deep Chunk are getting nice. About 6 weeks in and I think they're 8 weekers - which would work out to the next full moon. I bumped them up to a whole 80 watts and gave them a good soaking. The drink slow but have started to pick up speed with the plu ping more than
with the vegetative growth.
IMG_7473.JPG
There will be no weight to them unless things change drastically, so unlike the Notsodog Headband monster crosses this is pure headstash. But easy and cheap on the electricity for sure.
IMG_7478.JPG
The shady nugs are just getting a little less than this on the brown stigma and the tops are showing some nice colors to boot.

I took close-up pics of the Pink Champs first in that closet. I got a nice fat resin smudge from a sugar leaf probably 2 pics in  All the later glamour shots of the plant were hot garbage

Motivated by an empty veg and flowerer tent I dropped a dozen more fem beans. Slow-to-pop contest plants are gonna bte me in the ass and I know it - I'll be crowded again, but it's better than empty tents. Had the first Platinum Ice pop this morning after 7 days from getting wet. # of 6 have popped and I'll likely get all 6 since I went ahead and dropped more.

Good luck in the contest @H.A.F. 👍
It's all just growing weeds. I think the prize is - wait for it - MORE SEEDS!

More seeds I need like another hole in the head 😂. I'm growing out a batch of testers for @Heisen and so are a lot of people. The contest is an awesome way to make that happen and get at least a good percentage of testers actually growing out the flower and showing the progress/results. You also get people popping and flipping to meet the photo submission deadline instead of trying to veg out a scrog net for a few months to get 3-a-light :sneaky:

To be honest, without the contest I would have run a few in the next drop - or maybe the one after that. But I wouldn't have dropped the packs just because. I have tons of other gear I am dying to pop. This gets results in a timely fashion. I dropped 8 more fem beans today "for the contest". In reality I know I would never get back around to dropping them.

This is also one of the chances I get to run some currently popular hype strains and hopefully get to see what the hype is about. I trust that H got whatever the best cuts are for whatever the plan was. Not sure it'll be my thing with the lemon cherry gelato "candy gas" profile but I make no opinions before the first bongrip. I know shit about the new stuff, but I know that looking through a catalog this is probably not a pack I would choose. This might open new doors.

I think we are in similar boats. Even though I just started growing this plant I've accumulated many seeds. Each one I'm excited to grow. And it's a matter of "don't know 'til you try" for me too. I know from other things that concensus isn't necessarily the best bellwether. Some things I'm rolling with the crowd and some I'm an outlier for sure.

I showed that Wak-it grinder and the screen rig I have for it, but I didn't show the results. I had about 3g of larf from the second Croquembouche plant. Smaller than dime size nugs are what I smoke early. The amount of kief it knocks off is surprising.
IMG_7496.JPG
This is what I meant by it looking disected instead of ground. Each calyx is still intact. There's no seeds but each individual bud leaf and empty calyx is de-stemmed. They are also easy topick out afterwards so there's not much breaking down by hand. Great pipe grind for not using a screen.

So I now have a finite amount of that Croquembouche and the SSHP x Baguettes. What I noticed testing them was that there was very little variety in the different crosses. That Baguettes dad was the dominant partner in all the crosses.

The good thing is that the best cross was the Homecoming Queen, and I have 6 packs of that left. It is the "High School Sweetheart" mom and I have no clue about that - other than it was amazing.

From different Dagga orders I have gotten 4 different freebies from Monkey Dog seeds. First I ran was that Sour Puss. Knowing nothing about the breeder or the genetics I flipped it quick just to get an idea. It's got a dozen smells but all sour leaning, sweetness, gas, funky, one jar-crack it had some mint; but an overall yumminess. Oh - and while I was considering how to say the taste made the "decent" high worth it I realized I was really high. It creeps up on you.

All were 5-packs of feminized seeds with 6 in there. It's a good sign for me when the first plant out of a pack impresses. Now I get to try the other three and it looks like a good variety.

The Sour Puss is California Sour x Lemon OG x Critical Kush. The Flame Thrower is Cowboy Lemonade x Headbanger Truffle. What's not to love?
Blue Jack City is Blueberry x Jack Herrer, and I think I want to run a few of these side by side. Then there's Flashback '68 and I can't find any info on it but it just sounds like my kind of smoke LOL

But I checked and see no seeds for sale at the seedbank so I guess it's an IG only business for now.

FYI - AC Ininity clip fans have a twist-lock removable face plate, rather than the little snap-in nubs that break of. I think I busted the face of one trying to pry it of like any other fan. Nothing a little duct tape can't fix but I thought I'd do a little public service thngy.

I smoke flower. I like gadgets. I have OCD. Collecting pipes was a natural progression. Actually I'm a stoner and we break glass things so having extra is good. "In case of emergency, don't break glass" 🤪

Chameleon glass. One main reason. The Ash-catcher. That punched in section at the mouthpiece is the same size as the bowl. Aerodynamically designed so ash will not get through into your mouth. I think I prefer the honeycomb screen but that's a new one. we'll see how it cleans. The smaller one is the pocket version.
IMG_7543.JPG
The "typhoon" with the centrifugal chambers is actually better from a cooling/flavor standpoint. The three chambers have a hole punched in each side at an angle and it spins the smoke. Good stoner entertainment while taking a drag, and the distance the smoke travels and cools before it gets to you is extended massively. It is also made of significantly beefier glass than the regular pipes so it is not fragile. It collects any blow-through ash in that bowl section, haven't had much even get into the first chamber.

I like to find what works, then stick with it. If they make a typhoon or that little slugger with the honeycomb I'll complete the set
Great customer service as well. I got an expensive pipe I didn't like and Candace sent me a shipping label. Offered to give the money back but I got more pipes instead LOL

These are half between 9 and 10 weeks. The shorty is the Pink Champs and she's done.
IMG_7548.JPG
She's milky everywhere and the ambers are few and deep, but she's starting to push out a new set of pistils and I ain't got time for that. Her sister is almost dry and smells pretty dank. Everything got water and she lost all her fan leaves for the night. I'll chop her tomorrow afternoon. With the Pink Champagne and the G33 x Cherry Limeade I think I may get some of that candy-gas that's all the rave...
IMG_7551.JPG
The Notso ChemD is starting to look alot like the Notso Chemdog did. So this may be the headband influence in both. IMG_7550.JPG
She's real calyx-y if that makes sense. Forgive me but I gave a lower nug a squeeze out of curiosity and there is density there, it's not fluffy like it looks. Getting some pretty colors too. She'll go about 11 weeks unless something drastic happens. IMG_7549.JPG

Just notes for me in case I wondered the last time I deep cleaned stuff.
Having empty tents is only gonna happen once in a while for me so last night I finished cleaning the flower room tents.
Moved the Macchiato back in the 4x4 because they need light and that bar light isn't as easy to dim (fucking with screwdrivers and such)

I moved the Deep Chunk into the flower room instead of the 3x3 veg tent. I pulled out the lux meter and checked the 60w light just to see what I needed to dial the larger light in the flower tent back to. If anyone cares the Deep Chunk have been getting about 9000 lux, whatever that works out to in grow-light numbers. I know it's low for veg.

Now I have two empty veg tents and I'm back to a veg room I don't have to be careful about getting light during the day. I think I'll drop more bean soon.

Got the first Pink Champagne x G33/Cherry Limeade bucked. Very unique bag appeal. Here's a no-flash/flash of the haul.
IMG_7567.JPG
How 'bout those dark purple sugar leaf veins?
IMG_7568.JPG
But this is me growing taster plants. I'm not expecting bulk and I have ger sister hanging. But if I wanted to could she pull some weight?
IMG_7565.JPG
Almost half the weight is in the top LOL And she looks to be pretty potent if there's anything good in this:

Notsodog Headband (a.k.a. L.A. Pure Kush) x ChemD from CSI Humbolt
This hits 10 weeks tomorrow. Looking at 12 easy.

I don't think that living soil MAKES the plants take longer, I think it LETS the plants take longer - with no one feeding them intraveinously and changing feeding schedules because the seed pack say 9-11 weeks and you want it to be 9

Like if I started starving the plant - I mean "flushing" *wink* *wink* - at week 7 and they started finishing becaue they had no choice, with with brown crispy leaves right at week 9 like the pack said right? We don't smoke the leaves anyway right? end sarcasm LOL

Let the plant do it's thing and mostly stay out of the way and keep the soil moist. :sneaky: Give it treats every watering but nothing massive. Most ferments call for ~4ml/gl. That is just enough to wake up any sleepy microbes and get them back to work gettting what the roots tell them they need. Everything got wateredd tonight, and I also soaked a few tbsp of barley seeds to sprout. They soak for about 6 hrs then germinate until next watering. Chuck them in the blender with a small chunk of aloe leaf and that's next watering. I just let it soak in the bucket for a few hours stirring a few times, and maybe add castings.
