I have two Mars sp 150s in a 4x4 tent that’s my veg tent does anyone flower under these lights was wondering if they would be good enough for 6 plants in a 4x4 to flower or should I build another strip light set up?

Well looking at the specs for the sp150, it says that it'll cover a 1.5x1.5 area in flower. So that's 2.25 sqft. Double that and they'll handle 4.5 sqft. So do you square root of 4.5 and you get about 2.12x2.12.

Knowing that it looks like you'll need 4 sp150 to get the job done in a 4x4.

Please correct me if my math is wrong.

I don't think light intensity will be a problem, just coverage. You might have edges that don't get as much.

If the light spec says it'll flower basically a 2x2, you have four 2x2's. But the light doesn't stop art the edge of that 2 feet :)
Positioned right you can get pretty good coverage for now. Having 2 more and spread evenly gives you the option to dim them.

Very true.

I'm a balls to the wall, max it out, kinda guy I guess. Lol. It's nice to see both perspectives. 🍻

If your 55k reading was right on the lumens, check the heights and different areas. Probably drop into the 30k or less range at the edges.

@H.A.F. I think you might have the wrong thread? I want talking about about light readings but I remember reading it somewhere here in the last 15-20 min.

For what it's worth, my flower areas are at about 30k for the older ones, and about 20k for ones I just flipped that will stretch to that 30k range shortly. That's an average. it's a little higher in the centers, lower at the edges.

You’d need eight of them to cover a 4x4 if one of them is good for 2 square feet since there are 16 square feet in a 4 x 4.

No way - someone else was just posting about the same light LOL
I mean it might be this guy. The op.

Idk it's hard for me to backtrack on here cause I just read "new posts" and then they disappear. Lol. I remember someone saying their reading was 55000.

One sp150 covers 1.5x1.5 =2.25 sqft.

So there are 16 sqft in a 4x4. 16/2.25=7.11

I'm was just going by the numbers Mars published.
And for growing purposes it would light a 2x2 OK - haven't seen a 1.5/1.5 tent on the market.

For me it depends on what lumens/pars/PMOLS or whatever they count as "lighted" in their little light chart. I have found the gentler lighting to take a bit longer, but much easier healthier grows.
