Most red state property taxes are more than reasonable for the return provided.

Reasonable? No, no, and more no.

No, property taxes are not "more than reasonable". Some are less onerous than others, but they are never reasonable, since reason in the way you use it implies logic and the property tax scheme is highly illogical since it relies on a huge contradiction.

The term, itself, "property tax", is an oxymoron and misnomer and represents an unreasonable word perversion.

The defining characteristic of actual owned property is the owner is the person with the highest claim of control over the thing owned. The term
"property tax" attempts to redefine the meanings of words, based on who the actor is, which is ummm, is "not reasonable". Very much like how collateral damage is used when murder would be the correct term.

It is not reasonable for somebody else (singular or plural) to dictate when, how much and why you must them pay them and your alleged property is collateral and if you resist you could be killed.

It could be reasonable if you had made agreements with another party, absent any duress of course and you willingly pledged "your property" as collateral instead of a situation where your alleged property is collateral even if you never agreed to it.

The term property tax is wrong (it is) another word should be used. Rent might be the right word. People do not own what they call their property, they rent it.

The fact that most people use the term "property tax" incorrectly doesn't shift the fact it is an oxymoron. It only provides evidence that there are two standards applied, one for you, and one for your landlords /overlords.

I agree with your view on property taxes. Nobody should ever have to pay recurring taxes on land or property they own.

So you are against public schools, streetlights and road repair? That is what it was designed for, which was an investment in maintaining property value for your main investment.

It has since been bastardized both by the "extra" programs it funds, and the non-tax-paying non-citizens flooding public schools.

Like Social Security and every other gubmint program, if not limited it grows to benefit those running the programs.

Public schools are the ruination of minds.

Public schools are where people are taught to accept the very same action when you do it versus when they do it, should be called something different. Public schools primary purpose isn't to educate, it is to indoctrinate. That's not in question when the actual evidence is looked at.

If you were able to make a good counter argument to my claims you would have awhile back, instead you whined and put me on ignore (except you still read my posts)

Anyhow, just because some things are paid for thru extortion, doesn't mean they couldn't exist if the way they were paid for was done a different way.

I kind of see why you would ignore me though...if your ability to actually prove your argument is kind of low, it makes sense you wouldn't want to engage me.

Streetlights and road repair should be covered by tolls paid by those who use the roads and public schools should be paid for by taxing those who have children who use them. I chose not to have children, for personal reasons, so why should I have to pay to put some welfare mother's 10 kids through school? The only thing I could agree with would be a very small tax to help contribute to the police and fire departments, but there should not be any taxes that could cause a person to lose their land or house when they are in financial hardship.

There is not the time here to educate you on all the failures of socialism. Read a damn history book written before 2008.
If you are against "socialism" why do you out of the other side of your mouth seem to support government schools, which are the epitomy of a forced collective endeavor ?

As an aside, I don't support forced socialism, but have no objection to a collection of people being socialists if they all agree to it.

I just noticed @hhibrownsbacker is being a good little puppet by keeping up with shitting on my posts. 3 and a half solid days of me being in your head, huh?

It is kind of odd that a person would shit on a post rather than advancing a reasonable and persuasive argument why your post makes no sense and theirs does etc.

I suggest you view them as a compliment, cuz if people who do that had a better argument, they'd use it.

So you think driving on a road should cost money - but you shouldn't pay tax.
How many parkway tokens are currently in your ashtray, and which exit do you live off of on the GSP? :ROFLMAO:

And if you are not one of THOSE people, know that even though they have to have an EZ-pass, their property taxes are still at least three times what mine are. Blue states suck.

He's not even necessarily disagreeing with what I have to say. He's just shitting on all of my posts because he thinks he's getting to me. In the past 4 days he's logged onto this site for no other reason than to see if I've posted to this thread and to shit on all my posts. I find it hilarious and sad at the same time. Just take a look at his activity page. Or, if you want the condensed version of just when he shit on my posts, then here's a screenshot that puts it into perspective (I'm sure I missed some, too)

The only way that would work is if there was zero income tax, and all taxes were sales-tax or use-tax. otherwise it's just double-theft.

Yes, it's called "paying for what you use". I have no tokens because my state tracks vehicles like the nanny state it is and just sends you a bill in the mail or, if you have a transponder, they just bill your credit card.

BTW, I live in MA where I pay income tax, sales tax, road tax (tolls), excise tax on the vehicles and trailers I own, and then I'm also expected to pay sales tax on anything I buy out of state. Do you really think the only taxes I pay that go toward roads and schools is my property taxes? The roads and school money also comes from state and federal grants. Not to mention that many of the roads in towns and cities are state roads which are maintained by the state, not by the town/city, so you're property taxes don't even go to those roads.
