Putting honey on a wounded plant

Plants have to deal with life all the time. I just snipped off a couple of branches that are getting ready to shed some pollen. Open wound missing some limbs. I thought it should not bother it having honey on it but that would be me guessing without too much backing up the opinion. Outdoors you sometimes see latex paint put on trees who get amputated, then there are those that do not.

When I first started I was trying LST and snapped the top right off, someone told me to put honey on it to avoid infection  she’s healthy but I’ll probably snip that part off
It'll fall off when it's ready - that's a normal thing, honey or no honey. If you mess with it you may open it up to issues.

FWIW I top all mine long like that now, up to the next node. Leaving that little stick to slowly dry up and die keeps there from being a weak spot at the topping that wants to break when they get weight to them.
