Crosses that didn’t turn out as expected

So my last project was Ghost Rider x MB15MT crossed with Orange Blossom Express x Super Lemon Haze, it was cured but the effects are just meh.. Has this ever happened to anyone else? This was a disappointment because I wanted to get a sneak peak at Train Wreck genetics (both Ghost Rider and Orange Blossom Express have Train Wreck as an ancestor). Should I try the F2 seeds I made of this cross to see if any magic is hidden there or just call it a dead end and move on?

How many were in the population of your project?
I did 7, of those 3 were female. The middle plant ( have not tried yet) was the one I used for my breeding. I have over 12 of the original cross still. The far left plant foxtailed 6 weeks into 12/12 and the right plant did also to a lesser extent. Lessons learned were to give more water as when I pulled the soil both containers looked root bound (5 gallon soil with 1:3 pearlite) ran these in low humidity and less water than usual to try to find resinous properties but was unsuccessful. Ali of note, the males grew to over 6 feet tall and that was with 4 equal branches. I topped all at the 5th internode as I have with all their ancestors previousl.

PICK YOUR OWN
3 is not enough if you looking for certain traits.
Lots of factors involved, nutes, environment, lighting, temps, moisture etc.
Did you know the grower you got them from?
In the cannabis world, it's a shot in the dark, to get what you expect to get.
Especially something like Trainwreck or a good Cheese.
I'll bet a real White Widow is probably about nonexistent today.
They were good in their day.
Plant those suckers!
Then grow all the males and keep pollen from each and pollenate different parts of each female
Will increase your odds quite a bit.
So take the shot, or you will always be left to wonder,
that next seed could have been the one.

I bought the Orange blossom express and the ghost rider from the bank genetics in Denver, the MB15xMT is from Clearwater genetics and the super lemon haze was from med man dispensary. I chucked them all and the first crosses were good (OBLH and GRMB15MT) they were all grown under Viprasprectra 450 LEDs so I’m not sure why this particular cross didn’t turn out the way Imagined. But I tried #2 and the effects were clean, no taste to speak of. Not super strong but cerebral.

The OB and GR were feminized and the others I grew of them were good, As well as their crosses. I will try planting the F2’s at some point.

But next grow will be Orange blossom x Diesel Train crossed with lemon haze.( DT also feminized from the bank genetics Denver) I have planted the OBDTLH before and it turned out well. Will cross that with Ghost Rider x MB15MT again for the Trainwreck genetics that OB, DT, and GR share.

All the lemon haze crosses I have planted ended up with the lemon smell in the jar except this last experiment, so those traits are dominant. The MB15xMT is somewhat of a dark horse. I bought one 6 pack of them because I needed a pollen donor and have 5 left.
