Charlie's Northern Lights Grow

I log all my grows over at grow diaries, but figured I would also journal it here for those interested. Anyone interested in checking
out my current and older diaries can see them at THIS LINK

The seeds I'm growing are some ILGM Northern Lights I purchased last year. I've run these once before, but under my cheap Amazon lights, so I wanted to run these again to see how they come out under my new lights and the different growing methods I've learned since then.

Plants sprouted on July 11th and they have been growing very quickly so far. They are only on day 15, since sprout, and they already needed to be transplanted into 1 Gallon pots today. This is going to be an all organic living soil grow. The only nutrients I will be adding will be in the form of compost teas and dry fertilizer top dressing from time to time.

Soil being used will be a 50/50 mix of Elevation Summit Soils Base Camp and Nectar for the Gods #4 that I amended with 1Tblsp/Gal of Elevation Organics Mountain Blossoms 7-2-3 Vegetation. I will be using the Mountain Blossoms Vegetation fertilizer as a tea throughout the vegetation stage once a week. I will brew the compost tea with the fertilizer at the recommended 4-8mL/L of water and then will feed it at full strength each week in small doses (about 50mL of tea for every liter of soil).

All 4 plants have been growing at similar rates but I do have one mutant in the bunch that was only growing on one side from the start. It seems to be starting to grow like normal now so I will need to keep an eye on her. All 4 plants had their root balls dusted with Xtreme Gardening Mykos Wettable Powder before transplant and then were drenched with a solution of molasses water mixed at 1 TBSP of molasses per gallon of water.

Plants are currently still in my nursery tent and will be for probably another week or two until my other grow is harvested. So, for clarity, the plants are currently in a 2.5’ x 2.5’ tent under an HLG-65 light. Once they move into the 4x4 tent they will be under 480W of 3500k Samsung FStrip lights dimmed to about 60%. The lights will be brightened a little each week until they are flipped to flower and will then be at 100%. Environment in the tent has been holding at right around 80F @ 50% RH.

Got a lot of growth over the last 4 days. Nothing all week, but some molasses water for them today, and they each got 0.4L. The last time they got watered was last Saturday. Their node spacing is right where I like it. Not too tight and not too stretchy.

Plant #2 from the top. This is the one that had weird growth. Looks like she's pulling out of that just fine now.

Yesterday was a long ass day for me. I harvested the rest of my other grow, cleaned the 4x4 tent out, ,repotted all the clones, and the Northern Lights were also ready to go into larger pots, so those went into 1.75 gallon pots and got moved into the 4x4. They should really start taking off now that they are under the strip lights. I'm running the lights at around 60% (300W total) 24" from the top of the plants. They each got top dressed with 2 TBSP Elevation Organics Vegetation 7-2-3 and then drenched with a 1:1 mix of water and compost tea.

It does seem like things usually rotate around so that there are days when everything needs attention :ROFLMAO:
Yeah, I also had to mow the lawn and top dress the outdor plants with some flower fertilizer since they are starting to flower...well, one plant is, and the other is still just showing preflowers. I was planning on weeding the garden and pulling out some more zucchini and cukes after dinner but said "fuck it" and will deal with that today instead.

Plants look amazing today. Today they got a good watering, I topped them all just above the 3rd set of nodes, and I have tea brewing that they will get on Tuesday. I'm thinking they will probably be ready to transplant into their final 10 gallon pots next weekend.

The plants look great and have been growing well over the last week. I transplanted each plant into their final 10 gallon pots, drenched the soil with a diluted compost tea until they each started to get runoff, and then installed and dialed in the Blumat watering system. The end of each branch was topped again and the branches were pinned down to level out the canopy. I mixed up the ordering of the plants, so the numbers probably won't line up properly, but they won't be moving from their designated spots anymore now that they are plumbed into the Blumat system.

The only picture I got of the roots before transplant. They all looked pretty much the same, though.

Week 5 of veg starts today (Day 44 since sprout):

I let the plants do their own thing all week and haven't touched them at all. I noticed today that the two plants on the right side of the tent are growing at a faster rate so I raised the brightness of the lights on the left side of the tent by 15% in hopes that it will help those two plants catch up. The plants are growing in a pretty bushy shape as it is, so I may not train them in the typical manifold style I usually do. I'm thinking about only lightly pulling down side branches, just to keep the canopy even, and then I should be able to flip them into flower a little earlier than I usually do. I mixed up some compost tea this morning and will feed it to the plants tomorrow following a 24 hour brew.
