Carbon filters

So I added a carbon filter to my water line and it actually increased my EC by a tiny bit. I found out the filter works by replacing the bad things in the water with “harmless” carbon.
Question is, is it really harmless? Lol

Carbon is conductive so that's why your ec is higher.
I doubt it's harmful imo since active carbon is used to absorb chemicals and poison from your body.

Which one do you have? There are many, I have exp with some so I might be able to help. Most I find you need to run 100 or so litres to get any measurable results.

It doesn't exchange ions that's a softener it ADSORBS Chlorine and other VOC's. Some Carbon filters have include secondary filtration of some sort.

Yep Lanestrainley explained the higher tds. It from the new filter in its initial use. It's harmless to your plants.
