I dont find that the driver gets any hotter than the boards. But really, none of them are running hot. I suggest backing off the voltage in small increments until the boards/driver remain cool to the touch. 34.7v on mine.

The green wire doesnt have to be green, but it’s nice to have color-coded wires so you don’t accidentally get things mixed up.

Idk 18 gauge maybe I didn’t have the rubber cut off long enough and it cought the rubber when I was closing it?

who would I call amazon or the company?
Kev you dont open or close those. You push down to release the wire. To put it in you just shove it in. Stranded wire tends to get stuck which is why I wagod the solid to the stranded. Looking at it it should be fine you just will have to use the cable forever and not take it out.

I mounted the LRS driver on the fixture and it runs cool, just a degree or 2 above the room temp. The QB132 run about 10 degrees above the room temp. The fan on the LRS driver really helps the LRS with cooling. The HLG drivers run hotter because they only have passive cooling.

X2 WHAT bruno said! Lrs has fan built in. Hlg doesnt.
I ran my boards wide open using lrs and to the touch the lrs drivers was barely warm.
Thx ✌

Even though the driver itself is cooler doesn't mean it isn't emitting more heat. The lrs drivers are less efficient, that translates into electric lost to heat. A stove with a fan on it will be cooler than one just sitting even when they are using the same amount of power. Not trying to be a smarty Marty just putting it out there. That's good it doesn't cause issues though Bigterps that proves Kev should be ok. However kev you dont want to have it too close to the boards or exhausting over one if they blow alot of heat. If you have a hot spot on a board this changes the draw of the diodes and this just keeps quantifying till you have a short and a house fire. That's the thermal runaway part of it. It can be caused other ways but that's just a precaution.
